I was so pleased with the way this went today--you never know, when you walk into a classroom of college students *this* late in the semester, how many of them will even pretend to be paying attention, but they did--and their prof said the material I covered was exactly in sync with what they'd been studying, so real world meets academia = success

No, but my presentation was rooted in real (business) world HR right now--and the things I was talking about were what they'd been studying.

For a discipline like HR, you get concepts in school, but you have to see them in place in the world of business.

I'm always excited to see the world of business and everyday activities combining with the academic world. It seems so obvious, but some lecturers in practical courses who have been teaching the same course for years forget, or never even knew, the actual practices that are taking place out there on the ground.
