We saw Slum Dog Millionaire on the bus the other day and I really enjoyed it, but that enjoyment was tempered by the fact that I'd just read a newspaper report about how the child stars were not re-adapting well to their life in the slums and I thought what a difficult situation this is.
V, have you read the book on which SDM is based? It's called Q&A and it's fantastic. the storyline has been completely changed for the film and I reckon (as usual) that the book is better.

No, I haven't read the book, but think I might go and check it out, when I'm done with the two I'm working on now.

Oooh, are you going to a midnight release party for the DVD? I pre-ordered mine as soon as I was able, and am SOOOO looking forward to having it all my own. I wish we lived closer so we could meet up at an event like that *sigh*

I barely bowl a 50, so good for you on your game. And the trivia. M. does not like to play Trivial Pursuit with me, and it's a bummer to to SceneIt Harry Potter on my own.

"Lights" is one of my favorite songs, and one of the few that I can sing without going into my head voice. Love old Journey.

My Bible readings this week have been interesting, especially Esther C last night--really spoke to me.

I'm trying to get some more local Twilight fans together--we'll see if that happens or not, but I do plan to hit a midnight release party somewhere here in town.

I pre-ordered mine from Amazon, but also Target (for the special content) and Borders. Heh--you can never have too many backups, and each one has different incentives.

I know--I'd love to meet you too--maybe one day. :)

I ordered one from Target after I saw what it had on it. Maybe all other things being equal I will give the Borders one to my mum, who is also a fan.
