Chapter 8:

Dragan looked at Celestiaña, whose gaze was completely fixated on the radio. He wasn’t sure if he had heard correctly to hear that the three Gaelicans on Earth had realized that there was now only two Gaelicans on Earth. One of them ¬¬¬wasn’t even allowed off the planet. Dragan was fairly sure that at the rate that Celestiaña wasn’t saying anything. She had seventeen pairs of eyes on her, and she didn’t even seem to notice.

Dragan moved to the holographic menu, and let his fingers glide over the keyboard. His eyes were affixed on the female figure that seemed to be pacing around in circles. Dragan’s head lifted as one of the men coughed.

“So, what’s our plan now?” One thief dared to say. Dragan let his gaze linger on the two toned thief before realizing she was not going to say anything.

“Our plan, well. . . that’s an interesting one. We plan on going to Gaelica, and. . . “ Dragan felt his voice fad away as he looked at the thieves reactions. He saw it all: fear, anxiousness, excitement, impatience, happiness, sadness, scared faces and many more. He felt the same way; the way that they all felt when they heard that Celestiaña was exiled - helpless. There was not anything any of them could do, and now they were going to let her walk into the dragon’s mouth.

“Are you insane?” A muffled voice came from. Celestiaña’s eyes snapped to the source of the muffled voice.

“Do I look like I want to play with the King again?” Celestiaña’s words were almost incoherent as they were growled out. Dragan could bit his bottom lip.

“I do not really know, ‘Lestat. You tangled with it before.” The voice seemed to be getting more cocky and confident as they were talking. Celestiaña’s eyes narrowed, as she walked through the crowd.

“I might have tangled with them before, but they know me too well. They’d almost expect us to come by ship.” She paused for a minute before continuing. “However, if you think your coming with me, you are sorely mistaken.”

“Well, I suppose you don’t need me anymore do you?” Kyiuma took a step towards the center menu.

“Perhaps I don’t.” Celestiaña’s right hand disappeared behind her back, as the circle’s diameter increased drastically.

“Then get ready, little girl. I’m not going to go down easy” The voice was confident and Celestiaña’s amethyst eyes bore holes into the glowing red eyes. Celestiaña tilted her head slightly to the side and then braced herself for the attack. She had barely missed it, and it was going to hurt. She was thrown against the cold metallic wall by a gust of air that threw everyone towards their feet. Celestiaña’s skull met the wall before her body did. As she lay on the floor, energy depleted from her, she opened her eyes, slightly, and saw someone standing above her. Their husky breath tickling her ear as they spoke, “You did well, my dear. You’ll be ready.” Celestiaña’s eyes closed and she let the darkness take over her.
_______
Dragan’s eyes stared at the young thief. He couldn’t believe it. He had just thrown Celestiaña across the room with a quick flash display of power. The second-in-command stared at the thief before he regained his composure. Dragan’s eyes snapped towards the thief and his yellow aura flared out.

His shining aura flared, lighting the entire control centre, and the holographic menu left blinking as he abandoned the post. Dragan’s eyes flicked over towards where Celestiaña was lying and noticed that Kyiuma was lifting her head, and trying to get her to awaken. The circle was now an oval, and two auras glowing their respective colours. Dragan’s a yellow, and the thief’s brown aura dimly glowing. Dragan could not tell who the person was, until he caught the all-to-familiar grin and sky blue eyes, Ryouja.

Ryouja looked at Dragan with the cocky smirk, and knew it was going to hurt. Not only did he show his superiourity to Dragan, but he knocked Celestiaña down. Dragan’s eyes hardened as he just turned his back, and closed his eyes. With his back turned to Ryouja, he let his power move to feed Celestiaña some energy. Her energy level was nearly non-existent, which he knew was not anything to be concerned about, but what no one else knew was: Why was her power so low?

Dragan soon became aware of the leg that made contact with his back, which soon sent him sprawling next to Celestiaña, face down. Dragan’s eyes looked at the now asleep figure, and hoped that she would wake up soon. Although, he wasn’t expecting her to wake up as he was getting on his feet. Dragan lifted Celestiaña up, and saw her open her eyes and start moving to her feet.

As Dragan stood, he saw Ryouja coming towards him with the energy mace raised high. Dragan side-stepped the attack as the mace came swooshing to the ground, and yet, he didn’t see the dagger flying through the air. Celestiaña had moved everyone back, including herself, and launched the only dagger she had.

Ryouja glanced at the Dragan, and smirked. He tilted his head towards Celestiaña.

“You do not really have much spiritual power do you? You are resorting to your meaningless human attacks of melee.” Dragan pulled back an arrow and released it. As he saw Ryouja moving to dodge the arrow, Dragan’s left hand move to follow Ryouja, and soon two other arrows joined the first one. The first arrow was heading straight on to Ryouja, the second yellow energy formed arrow was heading towards Ryouja from the floor and the last one heading in from the top of his head. Celestiaña joined with the third arrow, releasing her own violet energy in small packets.

As Celestiaña felt her feet touch the ground, she could not help but look around, and notice the microphone began to crackle again. As she moved towards the microphone, she saw a spark of green-something beginning to form. She turned around, and then saw the ball of energy coming at her. Her eyes widened, as she put her palms together and in front of her body and covering her eyes, lowered her eyes, and braced herself for the attack

The green ball hit her and she was sent towards the side of the wall. Although, when she never hit the side of the wall, she turned her head slightly and saw the green energy pulsating next to her head.

She heard felt someone’s energy aura coming towards her but then it went in the opposite direction. Celestiaña found herself releasing energy at a fast rate, that she felt him being moved away from her. As the distance increased between them, she caught sight of the green energy coming at her; she took off flying to the other side of the room.

Passing through the middle of the room, she felt that he was coming at her again. Ryojua stopped in the middle of the circle.

“Do you feel like giving up now?” His feet hit the floor and he smirked

“Do you feel like dying, yet?” She turned her head over her shoulder and smirked.

“No, but you surely aren’t going be in the best of terms when we reach wherever we are going.” He released the energy ball and she reacted with her own energy.

“Oh, and why do you say that now?” Celestiana looked at him and smirked and looked at him, with her amythest eyes void of any emotion. Her voice went icy, lowered in volume.

“Because, little girl, the king knows quite literally where you are now. You will be going back to that little spineless society, where no one knows about powers. You seem to enjoy it so much, why are you trying to leave?” Dragan looked at Raize and Kyiuma. The two of them looked at Celestiana as if they were all going to see the end of their lives here on this ship, in space.

“A spineless planet?” Celestiana looked at him, almost grinning.

“That’s what I’d call it. You’ve taken a liking to it; you’re even risking all of our lives, including those two humans over there!” Ryouja motioned to Kyiuma and Raize. With his hand stretched out, he released the green swirling energy ball. Dragan screamed and the circle of thieves began to separate.

Kyiuma felt a pair of hands come across her waist, and she panicked. She began to fail around as the pair of arms lifted her off the ground. She didn’t like heights to begin with, why should she be handled like this. Kyiuma’s eyes looked behind her and saw a gruff looking thief, who probably needed to shave and probably bathe, picking her up, and surrounding her in a faint sky-blue aura.

He looked at her and smiled. She wanted to run or get away from him. She needed to be near someone she knew, and when she looked to where she thought Raize was, he wasn’t there.

Not sure whether to be thankful or not, but she did eventually find Raize who was in the arms of another thief who was looking just as ragged as her holder was. However, she noticed that he had a bright brown aura surrounding him. She saw the green light coming towards her and her captive, and she screwed her eyes shut.

As she closed her eyes, she felt the warm coming into contact around her, surrounding her as if it were a blanket. It was so warm, she wanted to fall into it and just go to bed. Her captive tightened his grip on it, and gritted his teeth. Her eyes were becoming heavy as she was unable to hold them open. As she drifted off into the warm slumber, the last thing she heard was her holder’s sigh.

Raize was not seeing to be in the same fate as Kyiuma. As he saw the green light, his vision went blank as he was only able to see green around him. He felt the warmth but knew what was coming: He felt the aura expand out that’s when he knew that he was soon going to fall asleep. It was common for him to feel this way, it happened every time that he was with Celestiana. As the warmth starting to take effect, he started to mumble his breath, “Take care of her please.” His captive looked down at the human and whispered in his ear, “Do not worry, Celest, can take care of herself. You on the other hand, can’t. Sleep, .”
--
Celestiana looked into the green light and felt the energy building up again. Ryouja was moving behind her again. She let her fingers dance around the invisible keyboard, and manually typed in some commands. Although she was unable see what she was typing, the computer’s voice appeared in her head. As her fingers flew across the keyboard she heard the light female voice begin talking:
~Create a box, 14 feet by 14 feet~
~Move the box three feet right … recalculating …~
~Move the box fourteen feet back from starting position~
~Solidify the box~
~Expand the box by eight feet by 9 feet .. recalculating the size … The box is now 22 feet by 23 feet. ~
~Solidify the new box, and enclose all spiritual powers~
Celestiana looked at the box as the green energy began to disappear. She saw Raize and Kyiuma being held up by her thieves who had their wings sprouted from their now bloody backs. The microphone crackled, and she took the small ear piece out of her ear. She turned to the keyboard, and saw the holographic image of the newly created box, and she smiled while she said: “No, I win this one.”

She saw that Kreyben holding Raize and she smiled at him.

Celestiana looked at the two angels and smiled.

They smiled at her, and then left the room with the two sleeping figures. As Kreyben walked out the room, a green light was beginning to emerge out of the box. Kreyben handed Raize to another lower member, and screamed at him to get out of there. Dragan, Celestiana and the now running figure of Kreyben were left in the room. Ryouja broke the box as the voice broke the now silence between the four people, “Box destroyed.”

Celestiana growled at the voice and let her fingers dance over the keyboard and while she was distracted, she was knocked towards the other side of the wall, where she felt the last remaining section of her energy kicki-ng in. She slowly got to her feet, she was breathing heavily as she was starting to loose her vision. She swayed and as she started to take a step, she found herself on the floor as the room became a swimmingly sea of blackness. Dragan looked at Celestiana, and could not do anything to prevent this from happening. He glared daggers at his old friend, but before he was able to recover from his shock that Celestiana was now out of commission, he saw that Kreyben was flying at Ryouja.

The pure white wings stretched expanded now to six feet in wing span. The yellow aura flared, and the clash of the two auras appeared. The room was light with the dual colors of yellow and green.

Dragan’s appearance showed himself in the sky blue hair and matching eyes, and as he moved towards Celestiana, his clothing changed from his human clothes to his appearance in Gaelica. The newly appeared cap bore the family crest, and his tunic was jet black. His military boots clicked as he stood by Celestiana, and he picked her up. As he lifted her, she opened her eyes slightly, and groaned. If Dragan did not have such of an acute hearing, he might not have heard her barely say “”. He could not say anything but smile at her. As he walked towards the door, he caught the ongoing battle between Ryouja and Kreyben, where it seemed to be an even match.

Dragan picked Celestiana up and began walking towards the door. As he reached the door which hissed opened, he handed the sleeping leader to one of the thieves, who he knew, and directed them to her chambers. As he handed Celestiana over, his powers flared and stopped the coming attack on him and the group. A semi-circle appeared, and the energy was absorbed into the circle.

“Get her out of here.” Dragan’s commanding tone was one that people were going to listen to. As he gave the order, he nodded and turned on his heel. The group sat there, in the doorway and did not even move. Although it was not official, everyone knew that Dragan was an undercover spy for them, as peering into what the King was doing and what was going on; it also was unofficial in the fact that Dragan was seen as being the second in command, and when Celestiana is not present, that he was their leader.

As Dragan walked towards the battle, his hands lay at his sides and his aura steady as can be, not waivering. As he reached with his left hand to his right shoulder, he grabbed the cape and pulled it off his shoulders. With the cape now lying on the floor, the voice began talking again. The group standing in the doorway stood in awe, as there was not any typing like they normally see when Celestiana is leading them. The voice chimed in with as Dragan was walking towards the group.

~Initiating lock down methods . . . in 30 - 29 - 28 - 27 - 26. . . ~
~Increasing the protection barrier by ten~
~Securing all the doors~
~Control room under lock . . Administrator password required~

As Dragan reached the battle, his aura flared and was increasing by the second. The group amazed at the amount of control that he was exhibiting. There wasn’t any movement that wasn’t already thought out, and it was clear that he knew what he was going to do. Dragan stood about four feet from the battle, and saw the movements.

Dragan sat back watching the battle, and noticed that Ryouja’s technique had not increased or changed into his own. It remained the same, only with minor tweaks that could not even be considered his own. While he was watching the battle, Dragan saw the similarities in his fighting technique now and from the time that they fought.

--
It did not occur to Ryouja that he was fighting the sixth highest ranked officer in the Galiecan military; no, he was destined to kill this person who thought that he was better than him. Of course, he didn’t take into consideration that he wasn’t that experienced, but he did have the determination and the drive of someone that did have the experience.

Right now, regardless he was not winning this battle. He wanted to scream at this person’s control ability. He wanted to be that person where the control was, and almost be able to show that he knew what he was doing, and to show that he knew that he was a trained individual.

It didn’t matter that he had just come into his powers, a mere year ago, in the middle of his school. Although, it was not uncommon for their powers to emerge in school, and damage to be done to the school, he was immediately pulled from his school and placed into the Gaelican School for Power Advancement or GPA for short. Ryouja could not complain that he was pulled considering he really did not fit in with the rest of his schoolmates. He was not stupid, but he did not care about reading, writing, reading literature or even having anything to do with mathematics. All he wanted to do was fight, and it did not care in which way he did. He wanted to fight, and that was all. GPA was obviously the best place for him, although whenever he appeared here, he was immediately placed into his place, by being told by his fighting coach “You lack the control without it, you will be nothing.”

A large blow to his ego, but it did not matter. He was going to work on the control, and it didn’t care. The 5’11” Gaelican male with pure white hair and grey eyes was very strange in appearance, but it didn’t stop him. He was the only one with his hair and eye color, and that made him almost be picked on. He wasn’t like the rest, and his drive for fighting came form his school experience where he was being told that he was “too old” for everything, because of his hair color.

It was not until that teacher who told him that he was “out of control” did he begin to listen to his teachers. He was not the type of person to give up and not consider anything that got into his path.

So, here he was, the lowly cadet in the GPA, and he was taking on his fighting instructor for his final in Fighting and Control class. He stood in the middle of the room, looking at his instructor’s sky blue eyes. His classmates waiting with their breaths caught in the throats as the battle began.

Dragan whispered, “You think you are the best?” Ryouja’s answer was silence in return. Dragan asked a second question, “You think you can beat me? You are nothing by a lowly cadet.” Ryouja’s answer again, was silence. Dragan, internally, smirked and made a note that the mental tricks could not be played on this cadet. :Good, he’s passed it so far.:

Dragan began to raise his aura slightly, awaiting to see if Ryouja was going to be tempted to just blast his aura out in one large quantity of energy. If he did the latter, he was stupid, and hadn’t learned anything. As Dragan’s aura increased slightly, so small, that most people would not have caught the increases if they were not getting ready to fight, he could almost predict that Ryouja was going to release his aura in one full swoop. Ryouja looked at Dragan, and smirked.

“So, your not going to release any of your power?” Ryouja’s cockiness was beginning to show, as his aura flared a faint red color erupting and brightening into a brick red color. “Get ready, old man, because here I come.” Ryouja came at Dragan, with a katana taking easy swipes at Dragan. As the swipes came, Dragan’s aura flared stopping the attacks. He saw Ryouja’s eyes widened at each attack that was stopped.

Dragan’s right hand reached across his body to his laser sword. He pulled the hilt out of the scabbard, and using his left hand he used the scabbard to deflect some of the attacks. As he saw the attack coming many times before, he knew that the young student was going to fail this quickly because Ryouja was demonstrating some of the same qualities that he had shown the first time they had fought. The first battle took all of ten minutes to complete. This time, it was going to be shorter.

Dragan sidestepped, yet, another attack, and decided to end the battle now. As the katana hit the instructor’s shoulder, he reached and grabbed the blade in his left hand, and pulled back. The student was placed off balance and saw that he was going to hit the floor mat.

Dragan’s aura flared again, and the laser sword was placed at the base of the student’s skull, who looked up at the instructor with tears in his eyes. Dragan’s monotone voice answered the unspoken question, in a low voice: “Fail.”
--
“You're still fail, Ryouja.” Dragan’s monotone voice glared at his former student. Ryouja’s eyes flickered to his former teacher, and then the sword went through Kebyran’s left wing. The crimson colour staining the pure white wing, and Kebyran fell to his knees with his sword at his side. He winced as another shooting pain hit him, and Dragan stepped in between the two fighters.

In his monotone voice, he said: “You’re still a failure. In all of these years you have yet to take a fighting style and make it your own. You are still relying on the idea that this fighting style works for you. You are using the same technique that you did when you were at the GPA. It’s still sloppy, not reifned and the same four moves.”

Dragan raised his right hand and shot a yellow arrow at Ryouja who took to the sky. Ryouja screamed from his spot in the air “You still don’t fight for the same reasons that I do. Stop saying that you and I are the same, because we’re not!” Ryouja’s right arm extended itself and he threw the small knife at Kebryan. Dragan saw the knife flying through the air, and extended his aura out to cover the fallen angel.

“I’m not suggesting that you and I were the same. We fight for different reasons. I fight to protect the ones that I love and you fight for . . . ?” Dragan’s eyes fell on the fallen body of the angel. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the group still standing in the doorway. They were creeping ever so slightly, similar to how icicles melt. Without Dragan saying anything, he increased his power enough to create a shield around Keybran enough to keep him from being attacked. :This is going to be on bloody battle, not unless. . . That’s it!:

Ryouja saw the facial expression and smirked. :He’s scared of my power, finally. I’ll be able to show him that he and I aren’t the same!: He took the sky and revealed a laser gun and pointed it at Keybran’s not moving form lying on the ground, blood now dripping off of his wings, and shoulders. Dragan looked at Keybran, and whispered: “

When Dragan did not move, Ryouja pulled the trigger and the entire group that was standing in the hallway saw the fuschia beam colour hit Keybran in the base of the head. Dragan’s eyes lowered, and then he looked at his former student. The group in the hallway gasped and awaited for the fireworks to begin.
