Is there anything more beautiful than music in the world?

I watched Copying Beethoven at the cinema tonight. At imdb.com many people seem to be quite unhappy with the film for different reasons, but in my opinion, the film managed to visualise music and create breathtakingly emotional pictures for it ( Read more... )

Looks very interesting. Ed Harris is a fine actor. I remember Gary Oldman playing Beethoven years ago. Was it "Immortal Beloved" ?
I think it was quite good, if I remember.

Last night some girlfriends and I saw "Hot Fuzz". It was a British cop comedy - extremely silly and gory black humour. I laughed my head off and so did the men behind us. Even Snapey would have cracked a smile !

Yes, it was Immortal Beloved, but I haven't watched it. Ed Harris is superb, and I always think it's a shame that at reast here only some of his films seem to be shown.

Oh, I saw a preview for "Hot Fuzz" and it looked fabulous! I'm glad to hear you liked it, because it's at the top of my list (er, well, behind a couple of other obvious choices coming up here soon *noblesonsnokcake*).

Thanks for that! I didn't even know there was a new movie about Beethoven. It sounds all the more intriguing what you say about visualising music. For me, music is always connected with emotions, and it's great to see you feel that way about the movie. I'm really looking forward to seeing it - I hope it'll be out over here soon!

Out of sheer curiosity, what instrument do you play?

Critics were unhappy with the film, because it's not historically correct. I'm not going to deny that, but I was just fascinated by Beethoven, his devotion and his visions.

It must have been released in the USA at the end of 2006. I suppose it already is or will be released on DVD soon.

I play the recorder. I'm a member of a music group, and we play mostly Renaissance and Baroque music.
