Fuck it. I've done my socializing for this lifetime. I was constantly talking to people, trying to find something in common. I gave up after I was told this when complaining some random dude kept calling me "sweetie" and "sweetheart" after knowing me a single message:

You know, not to tell some one how to have fun, but you're on a dating site...to not date. Despite the really honest job you've done to make that clear, and not a lot of pictures to draw attention, but still, I think it's a hopeless cause to expect that guys on here won't try.

So it's my fault that I'm clearly stating what I want, which ironically Mr. Dispenser of Advice was on for the same reason since he has a wife and girlfriend already, but it's my fault for the men not being able to read. Fuck it. And this was one of the guys I actually LIKED talking with...but I noticed he seemed to stop writing longish replies now that I think about it. Got it. I'm either a fuck toy or useless. Wow.

I know people who've struck up friendships through that site, but I also know a few folk who've been hurt by being on it too.

From what I've heard about it, a lot of people really don't seem to read people's profiles properly and there is a lot of people who seem to be looking just for fuck buddies and people to be the side dish to an existing relationship. I was told on AVEN by someone that people even send those kinds of messages to people who've stated explicitly that they are asexual and y'know, DO NOT WANT SEX.

So yeah, I've kept away from OKCupid. I'm glad that you had the strength to walk away from something that was making you unhappy, and that you feel better for it. And y'know, there are probably better ways to make friends - well, good quality friendships at least - anyway.

I know so many people who had a lot of fun and met some great people. That has not been my experience. I'm so tired of their bullshit, especially the sexism. I had so many rude or harassment messages.

I used to get A LOT of requests for sexual pics. But part of the problem IS the fact what you're looking for is directly at the bottom, where no one pays attention, or finishes reading. It's all about getting nookie, basically.

I kept away but it was good for finding local people, you know? So many people were just creepy. This one guy offered to "paint me" because I was beautiful - even though all he ever saw was my glasses and up. Right. And he was on the back end of middle age. I have it somewhere.But like, I was supposed to just take that cause I'm a woman? Hell no to that.

I mostly wanted to find nerdy friends, you know those interested in other things besides school. I was attempting to branch outside my comfort zone, which ninepointfivemm can tell you is pretty small.
