Oooh! I like it! Kinda creepy, but very reassuring at the same time, if you know what I mean?

Oh! Thank you! I'm glad. I wanted it to fit the music, but work in the Gate universe too. I'm sure there are the feelings of ghosts around the city, with everything it's been through. It has to seep in occasionally. Weir, to me, would feel it because she's in charge of keeping it safe and whole, of protecting it and giving the ultimate orders to save it.

Hmm. I really like this. Well-drawn cold atmosphere, but still showing Elizabeth as she is, battling warmth in deliberate ice. The style of writing of this piece fits it very appropriately. Is this the first time you've written her? It feels that way, but it's a very good start nonetheless.

I've written her...once before, I believe. The tag'll show it. I tend to avoid her, for the most part. Stick to others I feel more confident writing. I tend to think she's icy, because it's a necessary evil being in charge of so many people's lives, but the warmth that she shows when her people come back safely belie it.

*nods* She has a warm, dry sense of humour, and she's pretty affectionate - have you noticed she touches to comfort, several times? - but in her position she can't afford to be other than detached very often. The ice is a necessity, but it doesn't seem to come naturally to her to be that way.

Oh, yeah. She's very warm, encased in ice for protection. She has to leave the barrier up, in order to survive when someone doesn't come home or they lose someone (like with Ford). It has to be that way because the losses would be staggering, make it hard to keep going. I've always thought she loved the group, and this was the only way to protect her heart and decisions. You can tell she wants to be able to connect more, but it would lead to a lot more problems. That's why I tend to put her in a group all her own, teamless if you will. Not because she wants to be, but because it has to be that way. She has friends, people that she trusts with her life, but she doesn't have the same support that say Team Shep does. She can't rail at someone because she is the top of the chain.

Oooo, I like it.
Especially this:
This place - her home - is haunted, and that’s okay.

Thank you! I loved that line, too. I think she'll appreciate what the city is even more now. I like the idea of her having no problem booting ghosts out if they get in her way. Not because she's cruel, but because she knows that it has to happen sometimes.

She's totally no-nonsense, too, and devoted to Atlantis like she is nothing else. I'm kinda worried about her, actually.

Understandable. I think the original expedition is like that though. Perhaps because it's the first place they've ever truly belonged. They don't have to try and be anyone other than who they are (thinking John here). Weir-wise, I think it's because she's learning how to be strong in a new way, and kinda messing up occasionally in that curve.

Heh! Thank you. I tend to think that the city has to be a little creepy, given all it's seen and been through. I'm glad that came across.
