Presumably you also have a vast collection of rubber bands and plastic bags? If not, acquire one now! (Much much easier to remove bag from crutch and bin it when entering tent than to attempt to clean crutch of mud.)
Hope you have a lovely time at Glastonbury. Fingers crossed that the weather takes a turn for the dryish and the mud is not too bad, (Not least because I'll be camping too only in somewhat different circumstances and, undoubtedly, different clothing)
Let us know if there's anything that can be of help post-surgery and I'm sure a Mabel of some description can ferry it across

It sounds like a good time to go to an event - you won't be able to for a while again after surgery.
Best of luck, I'm off to Lincoln with work in less than an hour and won't be back until just before voting closes on Thursday (and I have - by post).

I have by post, too!

I'm normally using just one crutch but will be taking two because mud. I've bought cheap shiny green crutches and duct-taped fairy lights to them!

I had considered that, but assumed that placcy bags would have a serious grip-lessening effect. If you recommend it though, I shall stock up. Thanks!
