Overwhelmed

How many times in the history of this journal have I used that title?

I got an e-mail comment on my blog that kind of blew me away today. I made a post recently about a book I'd ordered through Amazon and made the mistake of reading at work. It was NSFW by a mile. Naked marines in glossy pictures in the middle, detailed accounts of the sex lives of ( Read more... )

It is fascinating. Steven Zeeland is the author, and he has his own website: www.stevenzeeland.com.

Yeah I already did some Google search. I think it would be really awesome if you get to somehow work with him. It's just that... Doesn't his work seem a bit too sensationalized though?

It would be cool. But you're right - his work is...well-researched erotica. My story is fiction, and any sex in it will be minimal and only there incidentally as it fits the story. I'm not writing romance (or erotica), though there is romance in it. There would be no story if my main character didn't fall in love with someone the Army says he shouldn't :).

It would be great to see his research and maybe he could connect me with someone to talk to.

I think there is a bigger audience out there for your story than you think. This is just more proof that people are interested in this kind of topic.

Congrats on that! It must be kind of cool knowing that he was reading your blog. :)

Good luck with all your future research and I hope Zeeland's info is helpful for you.

It's kind of cool, but a bit disconcerting at the same time. I'm still wondering how he found me - my little blog that maybe three people read is unlikely to place high up on a Google search, you know?

Hopefully I'll hear from him soon.
