Wow, thank you! I was really trying to find a way to make this seem justifiable to the canon.

As for writing drunk... only the last couple of paragraphs were written while I was tipsy. Most of it I was very sober for.

I am a little confused: I thought the Gate power ALL alchemy in the Hagaren world. Is it just for human transmutation? Is this a distinction that is made in the manga but not the anime? Gomen! *needs to catch up to the manga* ^^;

What the Gate can and can't do is kind of up for speculation. I'm of the oppinion that all alchemy is somehow regulated by the Gate and it acts as a kind of psuedo-god for Alchemy, but I'm by no means an expert. I do know that the Gate tends to turn up when you do human transmutation, though I don't know why. The Gate lives by its own rules.
