Drabble for Vikki

My son is threatening my daughter with a butt-x-ray. Apparently it's where you x-ray people with your butt. Pheonxi is very putt off by this. I'm not touching it with a 10 foot pole ( Read more... )

butt-xray...i'm glad my son knows nothing of this. and i'm glad my daughter is far too young to be tortured by it.

i was ready to go all *squick* when I saw this, but, I found this strangely poignant, and I liked this very much. good writing.

Ah how neat! It's good to know that 10 year olds are no longer into the potty humor.

Really, it kind of summed everything up. Fathers don't do this kind of crap to their kids.

Ok, now I do have some follow ups to flesh this out.

Ah, that drabble was sad. ;_; I especially liked the line about the scars. And then Hohenheim taking off Ed's limbs... shiver-inducing.

Ed is helpless and dependent and vulnerable. And Hohenheim is a cruel fuck of a father.

...that was... unbelievably fantastic. I have some bizarre love for Hohenheim, and you've made me want more of him. Tsk.

As villians go, he's got something. I like his calculating, deceptively gentle evil better than Kimbly's overt, loose canon kind of evil. His evil sinks in deeper for the fact that it's all so terribly premeditated.

Ouch. On both sides, ouch.

Perhaps Ed's quiet submission to what's going to happen is uncharacteristic, but to me he just sounds broken and weary and terribly sad. He's not letting Hoho off lightly by any means, though. Ed's first line as well as his last, I think, are going to stay with Hohenheim for a long time afterward as wounds that won't easily close.

I wrote two more bunches of drabbles elaborating on why Ed would be so completely submissive. The problem is that our world just isn't Amestria -- our world SUCKS. Without automail, without alchemy, without family and friends and a job and mobility, all Ed has going for him is his brilliance and his beauty. And these drabbles show how people use him for both.
