They axed Riley from CSI? Damn, that's cold. It's really not LLS's fault the character didn't work, the writers spectacularly fucked that up. They could still fix it by giving her some backstory, some actual personality traits and quirks (at least, more than the 2 or 3 they gave her over the course of an entire season), and relationships with the ( Read more... )

The show and books are a crackalicious pleasure of mine. I watch a crapload of HBO and Showtime series, but I don't blog about them very much -- I think because I'm not engaged in the fandoms very much and I tend to watch them On Demand or recorded when I have the time.

I feel bad for her, especially since that interview about how amazing this opportunity was for her came out at the same time.

Every new CSI on every show ever should be female, based on the makeup of the classes. Out of 20 people, we have 2 guys. TV is full of fail, women in certain fields are not some new and shiny abnormality. It makes me wonder if the CSI producers have hung out with any actual teams in the last 5 years?
