This morning, I had a vague thought about Starcrossed, which then suddenly became some scenes of a tv show about a tv show and Joe playing a guest star and David playing a crew member and... well

I have no idea what it is about those two men, but see, they once again work perfectly in your original characters (and from me that's a real compliment as I tend not to read OCs, but with them as the cast ? I had to ;) ).
God, what wouldn't I give to see them in a romantic comedy (as the main couple) Yes, please, now.
I have no idea what it is about those two men, but see, they once again work perfectly in your original characters I don't know either. The fact alone that there is Hewligan as a genre... Does this happen with any other actors? They just fit together so well in all imaginable incarnations.

No idea if does happen with other actors, not so many I would guess, as it take a special kind of chemistry for this to happen. It's one thing to have the usual slash from a show and some rps, it's another one entirely to find that in every role you put them in, they just seem to fit together. I don't think it happens all that often either in TV or cinema.
I wanted him to be human and I really needed their encounter to mean something, to mean so much that he'd seek Dave out to continue it. And thinking about it, it's a nice contrast to Dave whose life is pretty crappy at first glance, but who at least knows where he stands and who he is.
It would be interesting. Especially in these times when there's been increasing discussion about how to handle stars that choose not to come out and simply have a relationship with someone of the same sex at one point (I imagine that Matt's homosexuality is an open secret in the press anyway).
And it could be fun to see how Dave handles it all as someone who was probably a bit bitter about being surrounded by stars on a regular basis while very clearly not being a part of their world.
There is something about the essential John and Rodney & Joe and David that just clicks and WORKS no matter what they are playing, as long as it is opposite each other. I don't think I've ever loved another slash pairing that could translate into and out of so many things, and mesh so well, as long as they're together.
This is fabulous - it left me wanting to see more of these two!
Yes, their chemistry is just amazing. Which is why this really is more Hewligan than original fic because it relies so heavily on us getting that even when Dave was pretty annoyed by Matt, that there was this underlying attraction that kept him from downright hating him and that we understand why he wore blue the next day...
Thank you!
I'm tempted to write more because I'm curious about how Dave reacts to the limelight and also how much of Matt's "prima-donna-ness" was just played. We'll see.
