Choosing 10 fics is really super difficult... there should've been so many more on the list. *sigh* "Alone on the water" also make me cry every time, but it hasn't stayed with me so much like many other fics. Perhaps because it's just soooo sad.^^
I always though ChadRyan was supposed to be canon, or rather the actors decided that it was canon so Disney balked and they wrote in that Ryan/that one girl with the glasses romance at the last minute. And because the actors were a bit pissed off by that they kept the clothes change and some other little things.

Oh, you seem to know more about Chad/Ryan than I. But I don't think the pairing is canon because Chad was paired off with Taylor from the first movie (although they had no chemistry whatsoever). Ryan asked Kelsi to the dance but there was no romance, they went as friends. I think it's true though that Ryan was obviously gay but was never intended to be by Disney.
Anyway, I liked Chad/Ryan and wrote a lot of stories myself.

Zu faul für Englisch. *g* Ach, ich hab das mal von einem Freund gehört, (und dann auch auf tumblr irgendwo gesehen) dass von Disney aus natürlich nie vorgesehen war, dass die beiden offiziell ein Paar sind, aber die Darsteller haben das wohl sehr offensichtlich immer wieder angedeutet, sodass man bei Disney panisch wurde und da schnell noch kelsi mit reinschmeißen musste. Irgendwie peinlich, als ob irgendwer Ryan abnehmen würde, dass er auf Mädchen steht. XD Und das zwischen Chad udn Taylor war für mich immer nur "obligatorisches schwarzes Pärchen, weil anders geht nicht" und ließ mich genervt die Augen rollen, weil die, wie du schon sagst, so gar keine Chemie hatten...
