I KNOW all these New England/east coast states are getting on the ball, and I'm like.. god, I hope the west coast is starting to get an inferiority complex, because I'M SURE AS FUCK FEELING IT.

If Utah beats Texas, I will be similarly ashamed >:(

And with so many blaming a prominent Utah-based party for capitalizing on the anti-same sex marriage campaign in California, that really WOULD be a feat O_O

(Is there some talk of improving on gay rights/same sex unions/whatever in your state? I'll admit I kind of didn't expect much from the southern states even once the East Coast Awesome pattern emerged, but considering that my state HAD gay marriage and then took it away, I should probably get off my high horse...)

*scratches head* She doesn't even look that attractive to me. The photos just make her look like a bleach blonde with a bad tan and leathery skin.

That said, I likewise hope that the west coast catches up. I'm still a bit O_O at the epic fail from last year.

I just assumed it's one of those things where she looks better in action (like Paul Bettany, or how Tom Felton used to be) but eh, I suppose what you just described could speak to what I understand as something quintessentially urban Californian, so she's a good representative in that sense...? (Not that I can speak from experience there--I don't think we have so much of the tanning salon/bleach culture here in the Bay Area :P)

Hmm, I suppose it's a -bit- more flattering if you look at it that way. XD Though at the same time, I look at her and go 'Whatever happened to natural beauty?' It's so hard to believe that -that- is natural. DX

And her closed-minded attitude makes me go DX even more. She could be passable, but that sort of world view could make even the prettiest face hideous.

HAHAHA not really, just making light of how she could be an appropriate representative for California XD (I mean, she sure as hell doesn't represent me or anyone I know or any facet of California that I'm personally familiar with, so I figure it's gotta be something else).

SERIOUSLY THOUGH D: And according to my friend, she's signed on (or tried to) to help out the NOM campaign. And the pageant people are like, "Um, you can't do that--shooting commercials while you're a contestant is a breach of contract," and she's like, "OMG UR JUSS PERSECUTING ME FOR MY CHRISTIAN BELIEFS." Gag. With. Spoon.
