places to eat along I-95 beween DC and orlando fl?

Sep 10, 2010 11:15

does anyone have suggestions of places to eat that aren't too far off from I-95 south of DC?

(and if it's a "must eat" kind of place that is a little farther, that's okay too.)

I'm not entirely certain if this helps but...
this place is IN orlando if that's where you're going.
It's about an hour off of I-95, though.

thanks. :-) it seems like ethos is #1 here. :-p

i'm actually posting this for a friend who doesn't have an LJ. i'll definitely let them know.

good to know about jacksonville. that's sad. :-( it appears that savannah georgia might be promising. it had a place called the sentient bean that has a pretty high rating at happy cow!

OK so this is kind of crazy, but I noticed Smithfield, NC is right off 95. I live in Charlotte and I've been to Smithfield (a VERY VERY small town) (an ex of mine grew up there, otherwise I would never have gone), anyway so I've heard of this place, I haven't been there, but I've heard it's AWESOME: http://www.edensvegetarian.com/EdenFoods/Welcome.html

Why not, right? It seems to be right off 95. Use the internet for directions cause I couldn't tell ya.

A little further south, If you feel like hopping off 95 to go to Savannah (a really pretty town anyway), there's a great mostly-vegan coffeeshop/sandwich/brunch place called the Sentient Bean. That was the greatest place I found there when I went for a weekend, otherwise they are pretty un-vegan-friendly. But they have an incredible eggless salad.

Have fun on your drive! I love long drives through the south :)

definitely! oh also when I said "they're pretty vegan un-friendly," by "they" i meant the city of Savannah, NOT the sentient bean which has many awesome options (desserts/snack bars too!) besides the eggless salad.
