I know that there has been talk before about this but I still have some questions. I was thinking about vegan cat food for a little while, I did some research and I know that cats are obligate carnivores but I have read about people feeding cats certin vegan cat food and they have been fine. Some have also lived longer and helped them with weight ( Read more... )

I feed my cats solid gold indigo moon. Its meat based, but completely grain free. It's about $33 for a 15lb bag at petco and $29 a bag at the mom and pop pet store I like to go to.

Since going grain free, the cats don't shed, have never had hairballs, and have the softest fur. And their litter box odor has improved as well. My pudgy kitty is no longer pudgy because she's eating less because there are no fillers

I refuse to switch my cats to a vegan diet because they are carnivores. Decent foods for cats that I'll actually feed are the Solid Gold, Innova evo, and wellness core

I feed my two cats Innova Evo. They too are very healthy and active (for cats, anyway!) and aren't overweight.

.. not that I don't give them an occasional vegetable. They love pumpkin and seitan!

This is the best food. No grain and very high in protein but low in carbs. It seems weird for a vegan to feed an all meat, no grain food but it really is what's best for the cat. Cats are carnivores and people aren't.

I've been feeding my cats Evolution and they've been doing great. They're 10, but the vet (and everyone else) says they look much younger. One of my cats has a genetic heart defect, and he's done fabulously well- I credit his diet to keeping his heart problems from progressing.

One of the first changes I noticed was their hair became really shiny and silky- hair is always a good indication of health. A few of my neighbors have since asked if one of my cats is a "showcat"

We just started feeding our cats Nature's Variety: Instinct. It's grain-free and they seem to love it. :) It's about $15-20 for a 5 lb. bag at Petmart.
