If you're going to be in Ft Lauderdale, go to Sublime. It's on Federal between Sunrise and Oakland Park (I95 to Oakland Park Blvd, go east, right on Federal, it's on the right a bit before Sunrise). I'm not too familiar with other Ft. Lauderdale veg places (I live in Boca). There's a bunch of little places scattered around. If you're going to be in Ft. Lauderdale, might as well make the trek to Miami or West Palm if you have time and check out some places there as well.

Sublime is, well, sublime - worth it for a nice dine out. It is pricey, but oh so delicious.

There's Josh's Organic Garden every Sunday on Hollywood Beach 9-5 or so. Super fresh and delicious organic produce, and they make smoothies, too.

You might want to look at the Aventura area, just south, in Dade county. It's pretty veg friendly. I'm from Miami, but haven't lived there in a long time. However, I visit my folks regularly. Look on happycow.net and tripadvisor. They will tell you where the good restaurants are. Throughout Florida, there is a fast food chain called Pollo Tropical. I got this from the PETA website:

Located throughout Florida, Pollo Tropical offers Caribbean-inspired fast food, including several vegan options such as the Vegetarian TropiChop entrée. Other vegan items include Balsamic Tomatoes and Bananas Tropical. The chain's black beans, French fries, white rice, yellow rice, boiled yucca, and corn are vegan too.

You'll be fine. The two cities really are just one big city. There are lots of options.

According to www.vegsouthflorida.com, Pollo Tropical's corn has dairy in it. I trust them over PETA.

i'm sure you could order the corn without butter though; dairy allergies are pretty common.

It's in a container already prepared though? They just throw it on the food. The people who work there always seem confused and/or clueless.

Thanks! Apparently, I'm staying in Harbor Beach, so I'm hoping for cool places around there. I'll be spending the next week after on a cruise ship eating a lot of salad, so I wanted to get some good vegan food in first!
