i just got back from two months backpacking in europe! (netherlands, france, denmark, czech republic, germany, croatia, and belgium.) it was amazing! i went with a meat-eating old friend and with his help, it wasn't very hard to find food for me. fresh fruit and vegetables are popular everywhere! i didn't eat at many restaurants, but the ones i did go to were accommodating. just be super polite and and they'll more than likely return the favor.
safe travels! and have an amazing time!!!

That site lists pretty much every vegan restaurant everywhere. Print out the directories of all the cities you're visiting, and take them with you.

I live in Germany and so far have never had a problem finding something to eat.
I've also been in Madrid, Barcelona and Amsterdam this year. All cities had great veg*n options, I think someone already mentioned Maoz? I'd definitely recommend going to Barcelona's big market hall...TONS of fresh fruits, smoothies, nuts, etc.
France is a bit tougher with veganism, even vegetarian is difficult there. But special requests should always be accepted or at least tolerated.
Just stay friendly and you'll find something everywhere :)
Good luck and have fun!

It's really easy to get around vegan in central Italy (at least in my experience). There are tons of markets and in worse case scenario, garlic and olive oil pasta is always a good option. There are some types that do not contain eggs and most restaurants are very helpful, but the names escape me, I'm sorry.

Warning on the gelato; it always contains milk but some gelateria's create the lemon flavour without it! They're so proud, they'll tell you the truth. :) Good luck on your travels!

amsterdam has a very very good indian restaurant that has vegan dishes, and a really amazing vegan cafe that i ate at every day i was there. I have no idea what the name is of either, but they knew at the hotel & hostel that we stayed at- just ask around.

As far as Paris, lots of baguettes with avocado and you can get some salads as long as you learn how to ask for it without IN FRENCH. ask in english and you have a 50/50 chance. I did go to one vegan restaurant with a friend there but its been awhile and again, i have no idea what it was called.

There are options really every-where now days, so don't worry too much- you'll eat well :)
