Excuse my french:

That is fucking disgusting. What is wrong the world.

This has ruined my night, at no fault of the OP obviously. I am seriously ashamed of living in this country when stuff like this happens.

I know, it's so disgusting. Not just to attack a defenceless animal, but one so old, blind and loved. I don't know what is wrong with people to ever strike out like that. It obviously never did anything to the attackers other than be accessible in a zoo, which is also not it's fault. ASSHOLES.

Exactly, and a flamingo is so ridiculously harmless which makes the whole thing even sadder.
Did you hear about the case where a couple of boys filmed themselves beating up an injured kangaroo?
It ended on the internet, I don't know if they were ever caught, but it was a very similar incident where the animal was completely defenseless and causing no harm whatsoever to anyone.
Here is the story - http://www.thedaily.com.au/news/2008/sep/11/sickening-kangaroo-attack-caught-tape/

It's just sad.

Fucking pricks. How do people do this shit and yet remain so certain of their excellence as a "higher" species?

ohmygosh this is discusting. i HATE when people do this in zoo's, the poor animals have no place to go. like those kids that threw stuff at the tiger and when he got out, the poor thing was killed BECAUSE of them.
and a flamingo thats old?? who the hell could do such a thing.

I remember that tiger thing. I was ranting about how stupid it was at work and someone tried to side with killing the cat! Ugh.

I used to live in Adelaide and this happens all the time. I remember a while ago when I was a kid, someone went around and slit the throats of a lot of animals. I think its because it's really easy to break into Adelaide Zoo, and most of the enclosures are open and and just a jumpable fence.

Oh my God. That's horrendous. Is that the men that killed 64 animals they mention in the article? What is wrong with people.....

This is precisely why I feel so sorry when an animal is hurt, but no so much when it's a human. A little teeny part of my brain squeaks in saying "maybe they deserved it"

Fuck. I want to cry now.
