I just logged onto Youtube to get my 80's music video fix, and saw this on the front page Promoted Videos: (For those who don't want to/can't watch the gist is that Morrissey banned meat from the backstage of the 02 Wireless Festival. <3)

i don't blame him. if i had the power to demand a situation be meat-free, i'd sure as hell use it. people need to understand that for many veg*ns, meat is not just another food, it's death on a plate. it's not like, "oh, i don't like cookies, so i will ban people from eating cookies" it has nothing to do with preference..it's a fucking moral decision to not condone UNNECESSARY MURDER. when i see someone eating hotdogs and hamburgers, i get upset. to me, those hotdogs and hamburgers are OFFENSIVE. they are TORTURED ANIMALS and DEATH and their mere presence in my vicinity brings an oppressive negative energy. i'm not saying i go around weeping when i see people eating animals, but i feel a little depressed. i've learned to beat it back a lot in order to function in this omnivore-centered society

When Morrissey toured this last time I went here in Bakersfield. I went to the snack bar for a drink and I pointed out to my friend that there were veggie burgers on the menu! The woman at the snack bar said that Morrissey insisted that they were on the menu. <3

I think it said that he went vegetarian at the age of 11. I know that for a long time he was vegetarian but I'm pretty sure I heard he went vegan somewhere during that time.
