Thanks for reminding me about Sweet Life! I'll need to remember to make a stop there before I'm back down to SoCal at the end of my weekend trip back home. Mmm.

YAY! Eugene, OR, is my hometown, and I'm extremely pleased to be going back for a visit this weekend!

Because ohyourgod hit most of the highlights, I'd just add that I really love the low-key, rockin'-coffee-servin' Keystone Cafe (395 W. 5th Ave.) and have already made breakfast plans for Saturday there. And, hey! If your friend visited Keystone, it'd be just a short jaunt over to the prison! Who doesn't love a prison visit?

Uhm, but more seriously? Keystone Cafe is a few-block walk from Eugene's rose gardens, Skinner's Butte (within sight of Keystone) and the Willamette River (just beyond Skinner's). I'm training for a marathon and I can't wait for my Sunday run along the Willamette River. It's a beautiful stroll.

My two favorite restaurants in Eugene are Lotus Garden (Chinese, located downtown) and Morning Glory (hearty breakfast, closes at 3:30 pm). Morning Glory usually has plate-sized vegan cinnamon rolls for $2.50, and it's literally right next to Skinner's Butte.
