Help me help my Hubby

My hubby has been vegan for about 6 months now. He made the switch after seeing my hemoglobin alc levels go from 7.1 to now a 5.4 simply controlled by a vegan diet with little to no processed food diet. try watching delicious tv. it's on itunes.. and is a vegetarian cooking show, although nearly everything she makes is vegan.. and what isn't vegan can very easily be made so (and she tells you how). she does a lot of low fat/health conscious cooking, and even if a recipe isn't low fat, she tells you how to easily make it so ( ... )

No, not all carbs are bad. They are higher in calories so you need to watch portions though. Higher fiber breads and things are better but they do tend to be higher in calories as well.

I wouldn't say a whole cheat day is good. Having a small dessert here and there is fine though.

I personally lost weight on Weight Watchers. It works just fine for vegans, you just have to ignore their insistance on dairy. I've kept my weight off for 4 years now. It really does teach how to eat for life if you do it right.

with people who just started eating healthy, i'd say it's dangerous NOT to let them cheat every so often.

who knows? maybe in a few months he'll actually prefer not to cheat. i wouldn't be surprised.
