Yeah, but my fiance is omnivore as is all other family members. We're having a huge wedding... so he thought as well as his mother that having a vegan wedding menu wouldn't be right... whatever. I didn't agree, but yeah.
I just want some ideas of some good DIFFERENT food I could tell my caterer to make for me.
I only cook vegan food... And when I do cook he'll eat it. He has no problems eating vegan. It's just that he'd never want to be ONLY vegan. When he cooks his own food that happens to have meat in it, he'll use his own dishes and pans. I never cook him meaty meals. We have it worked out pretty well. And I like that he has no problem eating my vegan meals and he enjoys them.
Yuba is truly a delicacy. It is fried bean curd. It can be easily made at home, by boiling about an inch of soymilk in a large pot. As the milk boils, you can literally pick up the layer of skin that forms. This is dried, and then called Yuba. Aoyagi and Shurleff have a great book Book of Tofu which talks more in depth about making Yuba. It is a bit of an art to make! Congradulations with your upcoming marriage! cheers - Tracy
concidering giving vegan food to omnivores doesnt make them sick at all (unless allergies or something like that) and its your wedding day id say use it as a day to show everyone that you can eat really awesome foods that dont include animals. im having a vegan wedding..everyone else can deal hehe. but i give you a lot of credit for going that route. <3
