so i'm in south dakota right now. in rapid city. we've stopped at a few major cities along the way from jersey . so i've learned that most of america is fat. and a lot of people look imbred. its kinda depressing. oh well. there's been hardly anything i can eat ( Read more... )

hmm i'm kind of glad you posted about chicago diner not being that good, because i live in chicago part of the year & i didn't like it, even though everyone always says how good it is. the cookies and cream cake was admittedly delicious, but everything else kind of sucked and made me feel sick. if you're in the area again, definitely go to blind faith cafe in evanston instead, that place is wonderful and much better.

but yeah, overall i'd say new york city's veg restaurants are far better. i had the bamboo club sandwich & the white chocolate raspberry cheesecake at red bamboo last night & i'm still content and full from it. soooooo good.

told you chicago diner was way overrated.

some friends of mine were recently in bear butte, SD and saw a restaurant sign 'vegans welcome!' so they stopped in. they had hummus and bagels. those were their only vegan options. in fact, the girl at the counter didn't even know what vegan was when they asked what foods were vegan there.

some gimmick...
