road trip across america
so i'm in south dakota right now. in rapid city. we've stopped at a few major cities along the way from jersey . so i've learned that most of america is fat. and a lot of people look imbred. its kinda depressing. oh well. there's been hardly anything i can eat.
i stopped at the CHICAGO DINER. it sucked. i got the french toast brunch delux thing. the french bread was just thick bread with a cinniminy smell, and maple syrup on the side. their scrambled tofu tasted like dirt, and they're potatos were dry and crusty, the 'bisquit' they had with it was rock hard. their mint smoothie i had was alright. but i've had a lot better at red bamboo and foodswings in ny. i complained and they gave me a discount. but i was still just sad. AND they serve "FREE RANGE EGGS" and dairy cheese. what the hell. aaaaaaanyway.
i also stopped at that bleeding heart bakery. that sucked too. i looked around and they had lots of stuff, but i saw some stuff labled vegan, so i asked what stuff they had that was vegan, and the person behind the counter listed a bunch of things, but it was only like 15% of the stuff they were selling, if even that. there was nothing that looked good, so i asked if they had any vegan cake. she pointed to one that was not labled, and she hadn't mentioned as vegan earlier. i thought that was a bit iffy, but i was dissapointed already and my friend was like 'just get it' so i did. the cake part inside was hard. bleh.
in WALL, SD the famous town for WALL DRUG we ate. they had a gardenburger, and when i asked, they said it had egg whites in it. at least they told me the truth. so i've been living off of fries and luna bars. and juice. this whole time. and sometimes subway for their veggie delite. i'm gonna try to go to taco bell and see if i can get a vegan '7' layer burrito.
oh and we've been on rt 90 most of the time. and i've seen 2 big trailer trucks that were all metal and hand lots of holes all around, being behind it stunk a lot. so when we passed it, i looked inside, it was PACKED with pigs. i felt like i was gonna throw up or pass out it was so disgusting. and it was really hot out and sunny, and that container thing was all metal. people are so horrible. i took a picture of the second one i saw. will post after i get back.
