Chocolate Banana Cupcakes with Peanut Butter Frosting

So my wife and I went on a cupcaking making run this weekend.  We made Chloe Coscarelli's Raspberry Tiramisu Cupcakes (which are amazingly delicious BTW).

We then decided to make one of our own, so we came up with the subject you see, these also tasted amazing, and were very pretty when we finished.

With regard to the "solidified palm oil", can this be substituted for a vegan margarine or shortening?

I would do half and half or just shortening for a buttercream. Margarine will melt at room temp, which would mean no fluffy frosting mountain. =(

Yes, I said palm oil, but that's just what the ingredients say. We buy it as the trans-fat free vegetable shortening from our local grocery.
