I'm traveling to England next week and I'm getting sooo excited about all the delicious food I will be eating. V Bites is in Hove, which is a bus ride away from Brighton. I'd recommend Food For Friends and the Infinity cafe, which are both in Brighton centre - the Infinity shop, which is a few doors down, is the most amazing wholefoods store in the UK IMHO. If you get there early enough, they have vegan pizza and vegan iced buns to take away but they sell out pretty quickly. I also recommend The George, which is a vegetarian pub at the bottom of Trafalgar Street (you can walk down from the train station). Their food is really good and they only sell veggie drinks.

As for London, if you've got a bit of spare cash, I've heard good things about Saf which is a raw restaurant. There's also the new Zilli Green veggie restaurant in Soho - again not been there but the menu looks interesting. AFAIK it's the first veggie place run by a "celebrity" chef. 222 is awesome - if they have lasagne on the specials board, I recommend it and the brownies in Inspiral Lounge are to die for although they seem to have reduced their seating area recently.

Zilli green isn't as good as you'd expect. I was a bit disappointed, doesn't mean I would go there again though. Lol. Not as Good as Simon Rimmer's 'Greens' or David Banns.

I read something about Pogo shutting down... you might want to check that out, although I'm not a Londonder so I have no idea really!

Do you know about happycow.net ? That's what I read when I travel. I know it has Brighton, because when I went to Brighton I ate very well.

I'd recommend The Gate and Mildreds in London, and Terre a Terre in Brighton - all vegetarian with good vegan options. Hope you have a great trip!
