Is anyone doing a non-tofurkey American Thanksgiving? I’m going to my husband’s omnivorous aunt and uncles’ house and I’d like to bring something tastier and nicer than tofurkey. Plus, the consistency always kinda weirded me out.
What are you all doing?

I made a pastry crust and put it in little pie pans. I cooked my filling for a while on the stove top, cubed tofu, garlic, onion, carrot, celery and green peas cooked in a savory gravy (veggie bullion, corn starch, olive oil, and nutritional yeast). Then I put it in my pie shells, put pastry over the tops and baked them until golden brown on top. Labor instensive, but very good.

What combos worked best for you?
Thanks!

- green bean casserole
- the roasted sweet potatoes from Modern Vegetarian Table
- garlic mashed potatoes
- my golden gravy
My gram also makes a traditional Filipino roasted eggplant salad and steamed fresh veggies, like broccoli, cauliflower and carrots. I'm not big on "replacing" turkey, especially since I'm the only veg type, so I just "eat around" it instead.
