Dearest vegans bakers, please help me out. There is some awesome homemade-looking sweet potato cinnamon raisin swirl bread at a health food store nearby, and it is so very good, but it is $4 per loaf, which is too expensive for me. it's probably not a yeast bread, but a quick bread (yeast is an allergen, so they would have to list it if it's in the bread. my husband=has a yeast allergy). I think you could probably easily figure this out quickbread style. you could mimic a traditional pumpkin bread recipe and modify it to include sweet potato puree instead of pumpkin. TBH: google "pumpkin bread" or check the http://havecakewilltravel.com blog, celine does a lot of sweets.

wouldn't a swirl bread be a yeast bread?

i would think so, but the entry says the ingredients do not include. Yeast IS an allergen so maybe it was omitted when she typed the ingredients? idk. all i know is that yeast has to be listed if it's in the product.

The bread looks like it's homemade, and it's sold at a student-run co-op, so I wouldn't be surprised if the baker just messed up on the ingredient listing regulations. Also, this is in Canada. I don't know if that makes a difference. I checked my grocery store bread, and it does have yeast listed in the ingredients.

you can probably find sweet potato puree in a can, or you can boil and mash 'em yourself, or most places either carry or can special order sweet potato flour...
