Veggie bouillon cubes

Jan 26, 2009 16:09

Hi all,

Best tasting veggie bouillon cubes for soups (I never make the effort to prep my own veggie stock ahead of time)? I'm trying to part with my MSG-laden (but delicious) Vegeta seasoning and replace the taste with some bouillon cubes, so I'd love any recommendations.

TIA!

Right now I'm using McCormick's veggie cubes, because they were on sale. :)
I'm happy with them.

Marigold Swiss Vegetable Vegan Bouillon Powder (reduced salt) does the trick for me when I'm pushed for time.

Here is their website. It's pretty widely available in the UK, not sure about the rest of the world.

I think our vegeta is msg-free...

Yep, they sell a kind of Vegeta without MSG.

I use Seitenbacher powder.

Really? I wasn't aware that existed... I can't find any without monosodium glutamate listed as like, the main ingredient!

I've been using Rapunzel powdered broth. I like it in that form because I can use as little as I want, and I've been throwing a pinch in recipes here and there. I think it was a little cheaper price-per-ounce than better than bouillon, too.

I'm a big fan of the Rapunzel cubes as well. They are the 'secret ingredient' in my lentil soup.

I use Osem chicken broth flavored (which is parve - meaning no meat products in it) or veggie flavored powder. They taste great. There is also onion and beef flavors, also veggie. Look in the kosher food section.
