tahini sauce question

Apr 13, 2008 00:43

can i freeze tahini sauce?
it's store bought (i don't know how to make GOOD homemade tahini!) for falafel the other day but couldn't finish it all.
there's a TON left and i really don't want it to go bad.

anyone have any experience with freezing tahini sauce?

i am at right about a year with mine just in the fridge [would love to leave it in the pantry, but i live in fl, so that doesn't seem so much like a good idea]. it still tastes normal [i only use it about once a month]. and since i figure it's an oily seed, i'll know when it goes bad.

really!?

because last time i had some, it was in the fridge a few months, no where near a year, and it got all weird looking and smelled bad.

maybe yours was just older to being with. mine wasn't supposed to expire until april/august of 2009 [it really says one or the other i am just a few states away and not up to calling my sitter to find out the expiration date on the tahini].
