Rice Krispies Cereal - Help me get rid of mine!

Hi gang. I need to pick your collective brains for a moment on Rice Krispies. I bought a huge 2lb bag of Rice Krispies Cereal (ok, Meijer Brand Crisp Rice with Garfield, but you get the idea) to make Vegan Peanut Butter Rice Krispy Treats for my students and coworkers in the spring. The treats are kind of like my group gathering speciality. However ( Read more... )

I'm afraid I'm no help, but I would LOVE it if you'd post your Krispie Treat recipe (if you haven't already somewhere)! Many thanks! :o)

I'll post mine, which may be the same as the one mentioned... but I love it with the chocolate on top!

1 c. corn syrup
1 c. sugar
1 c. creamy or chunky peanut butter
6 c. Rice Krispies cereal
In a large saucepan over low heat, combine first 3 ingredients. Stirring constantly, bring to a boil and boil for 3 minutes.(Microwave is much easier - none of this constant stirring) Add cereal and toss to coat well. Press into greased 13x9x2 inch pan. Cool and cut into 2x2 inch squares. Makes 32.(or whatever.)
and the icing: I can't remember the exact measurements, but it's a dark (semi-sweet, no dairy) chocolate chip and smooth peanut butter melted together and poured on top of the squares. Chill and cut.

my sister had a recipe similar, but she would roll the mix into little balls, and then coat them with a chocolate-edible wax mix (the little bit of wax makes the chocolate harden) eating wax weirded me out, but the treats themselves were cute and yummy.

You can crush/grind them and use them as a replacement for panko bread crumbs and coat different vegetables in them for frying. I recommend mushrooms.

wow, that's an awesome idea! I have a large unopened box of rice krispees and have yet to find a decent use for them other than rice krispee bars.
