A fluid ounce of margarine weighs an ounce. If you have a food scale, you can save a lot of greasy measuring cups by weighing your fats. (An ounce of vegetable oil weighs 24 grams, so that's not as catchy, but it's still useful.)

whenever i make something from a box mix (i.e. brownies, pancakes, waffles, etc), i add just a bit of vanilla to the mix before cooking, whether the recipe calls for it or not - usually i just pour it into the cap of the bottle (it's roughly 1/2 tsp). it doesn't seem like much, but it makes a world of difference.

i also sprinkle sugar in the raw over the tops of muffins just before they go into the oven - it doesn't really change the taste, but it makes for a really nice presentation.

The sugar in the raw look is perfect for the packets we all take from Starbucks.

I take those packets anytime I'm in a place that has them.

I was skimming my friends list and I saw this:

Whenever I do this, the tops of my breasts come out perfectly rounded.

*screech*

Imagine my disappointment. BREADS?! Really.

4 Tablespoons = 1/4 cup
5 Tablespoons = 1/3 cup

This isn't so much a tip but something I love to do: mixing up liquids. if I'm making blueberry muffins use blueberry juice instead of soy milk and cut the sugar a bit.

This is obvious - wait for things to cool before removing them from the sheet, tin, pan. It really makes all the difference in how it holds.

actually 1/3 cup would be 5 Tbsp. + 1 tsp., though with many things it might not matter to be exact.

oohh. That's good to know. I was lied to then, but you're right, that little bit doesn't matter much.
3 tsp. = 1 Tbl right?

Thanks for that first tip! I've been struggling with getting my cuppycakes and muffins to be rounded!

You are welcome. I think I heard it on Food Network once.
