breakin' the fast, breakin' the fast!

my waffle experience started out badly. my waffles weren't especially recognizable as such, but the second batch was just fine. I need to hone my waffle skills, I suppose.

I love the stegosaurus biscuit. I nearly bought that cookie cutter last weekend and regret not doing so. Oh, your biscuit link is not working.

hey, thanks- I think the vegweb server is down. they're the "healthy fast food biscuits" that can [usually] be found there. if you or anyone else would like, I can type it out!

and that cookie cutter came in a set of ten (!!!). I got them for christmas, but they're from williams-sonoma. I love them, too!

Ah, I was wondering which ones. I've made the biscuits like mom never made before with success - but I actually am not a fan of the healthy fast food recipe - and I'm pretty good at getting fluffy biscuits, but these were too heavy for me.

I saw the cutters at Sur La Table. I just may get one.

they were a little heavy, but I enjoyed the taste a lot.

are the ones you tried fluffier, or were both recipes a little dense?

it still tasted like a waffle.

I learn from it all, though, so it's never really a bad thing in the end. just frustrating!

and thank you!

awesome!

I was actually going to make those last night, but had bananas that I needed to use and didn't want to make banana bread again (I'd end up eating all of it!).

haha- a little metal never hurt anybody.

I still love your icon.

I love the apple waffles 'cause they serve the same purpose as banana bread in that you can use older, soft fruit that you wouldn't want to eat raw. Keeps it from going to waste.

^-^ Thanks for sharing !
What brand of biscuit did you use for the jelly donuts?

just the store brand. most that I saw weren't vegan, but the generic brand was. it contains partially hydrogenated oils, though. I'm not even sure why I bought them. I guess for nostalgic purposes. I doubt I'll buy them anymore, especially since I plan on experimenting with other biscuit recipes.
