I'm in a bit of a funk today. Said funk could have one of many causes:
  • The DSL continues to not work reliably, despite numerous calls to AT&T. If I felt better, we'd have switched to Time Warner for cable Internet long ago.
  • The DSL guy was out here yesterday and this morning, the phones did not ring. We could make and receive calls fine, but ( Read more... )

With a real attorney, especially one that specializes in disability cases and knows you've already applied, you usually get a hearing within three to six months.
Good luck, and not just with that, with everything else.

They've said there's a tremendous back-log of cases in this area is why it would take so long, but I'm gonna keep on them to get me in there ASAP. I've got frivolous spending of taxpayer money to do.

Note to any disability-related parties reading this: That was a joke, son.

I've been out of high school 7 years this May and I haven't done shit with my life either. Haven't achieved anything, don't have a job, zip. At least you have the excuse that you're disabled. I'm serious. Not sure if that helps though...

I hope you feel better! :-)

Hey, you graduated from college, fell in love, and got married. I'd count that as something. Something a lot of people can't say.

Your parents are selling your house in this economy? Where will you all go?

What? Oh, heavens, no. They're cleaning out and straightening up my grandparents' house to sell. I've told them that renting would be a good choice, but since it's kind of out in the country, you wouldn't really attract a lot of people with a rental offer like that.
But, then, they said that before the economy took a swan dive into the kiddie pool.

Oh, your GRANDPARENTS' house. That makes much more sense.

Oh, yes. Especially since my parents' house is full of even more junk and I really don't want to move anywhere until I feel better.

If it helps, next June is my 10th year since graduating from high school and since I won "most dedicated" and "most inspirational" and won the most trophies for the school my senior year, it's pretty embarrassing that I don't have my B.A. yet. And I'm a secretary (paralegal, too, but mainly just a secretary). So, I'm just as down in the dumps about that. At least you have a reason. My reason is that I was lazy - it was easier to sink than swim, and so I would let myself sink into a depression. It doesn't help that I was married to the wrong man. So, now I'm a divorced girl without a B.A. instead of just a girl without my B.A.
