What.

So I go to CBS.com to watch one of the TV shows I missed this past Monday because you can't expect a nerd like me to miss the three hours of "Heroes" premiere stuff on NBC, can you? I'm thinking "Oh, it's only two days later. The video should be up by now." And what to my befuddled eyes should appear?

This! )

tv, interwebs, computers, idiocy, rants

I noticed this as well. It seems that NBC is doing everything right, and CBS is doing everything wrong. Hell, even NBC has shows from different networks (I.E. Fox, USA, etc.) because they're popular and they know that they'll get advertisement dollars from people visiting their site. Even NBC.com has Heroes (and other shows) episodes directly on their site for quite a while.

If CBS likes, I can go talk to Natali Del Conte for them... I mean, it'll involve dinner and a nice bottle of wine, but I'm sure I could get some pointers to relay back to CBS. Yeah, that's the ticket.

USA is a Universal network (as are Sci-Fi, Bravo, and a couple others), so there's not much of a conflict there. They own the stuff anyway.

And if you talk to Natali del Conti, don't mention the small shrine I have in my closet.

Look, CBS, I know your network's target demographic is old people who leave the TV on so they don't feel alone, but sometimes you fail upwards and get a show people like. In order to make money, you should make these shows available online for people to watch.

So funny. And so true.

One caution, though, could old people who leave the TV on so they don't feel alone possible be construed as "ageist?" Just kidding. Had to try to be politically correct!

No, because I'm a young person who sometimes left the TV on so my apartment didn't seem so empty. Take that, over-sensitive hippies.

Aw, hell, I still do that! Or, rather did that back when we had TV. It's all online for me now!

I still have a TV because when I feel crappy, I don't like making decisions other than "Yeah, I'll watch this." versus "No, I don't want to watch this." Thinking hurts with a migraine, and I like the convenience of hot and cold running dreck.
