I really enjoyed my day at University.

It was in an older high school, but the site was pretty good.  A bit far away, but not too bad.

We arrived a bit late for the 10am class and by the time I was dressed it was about 10:45am.  So I skipped the MoL Intro class and took

Geography got in my way of going to University...
You took the Pies class? And have a handout? Any chance of getting a copy? (And the garb palette class sounded interesting. there were many classes that sounded interesting...)

I'll make a copy as soon as I locate it.

The dishwasher leak caused my little bit of organization to be lost. :p

To call a courtesan a whore is like labling a geisha a whore. As you said - some may have had sex with their clients, but that was not the point of their profession.

I don't know how accurate it is to period practices (from my understanding, it's close), but a good movie to see on the subject of 16th cen. courtesans is "Dangerous Beauty." I think it does a good job of showing the complex world of the courtesan.

I totally own that movie. ;)

The clothes aren't bad, either. Just don't look at "Veronica's" wardrobe. That is totally "Hollywood Leading Lady."

Try Private Lives in Renaissance Venice. It has an excellent chapter on the life of courtesans.

Thanks. I've had that on my wishlist... I'll bump it up in priority.

Maybe dante will get it for me for Valentine's Day. :)
