Atlantian University

I really enjoyed my day at University.

It was in an older high school, but the site was pretty good.  A bit far away, but not too bad.

We arrived a bit late for the 10am class and by the time I was dressed it was about 10:45am.  So I skipped the MoL Intro class and took
hazebrouck's Garb Palette Class.  It was educational.  I'm looking forward to Garb Card v.3 and getting some more info from her on Italian Colors (she has two books I need to ask to borrow when my house no longer looks like it exploded... actually, it looks more like it IMploded at this point).

In that class no less than three ladies asked to see my parasol (work in progress).  I have determined and announced (and announce here again) that I will teach a class on parasols within the next three Universities.  I'll try to get it together for June, but I will definitely teach it by next February.  I am getting some preliminary documentation together on this subject because I am entering my parasol in a competition next weekend (best item under $15) though I generally disapprove of the A&S competition.  I like the displays, but competing in such a wide range of medium and time frame bothers me.

I took the two MoL practicum classes.  They were pretty much stuff I already knew.  Mostly logic based problem solving.

I also stepped in to a Basic Jewelry class to give examples of later period jewelry.  I was a model. ;)

Then I arrived fashionably late to Celric's Backgammon class.  I still remember all three games he showed us.  I should teach them to
dante_di_pietro tonight...

Last class of the day was "Pies!" and it was pretty good.  She had a handout that she was relying on pretty heavily, but she knew what she was talking about. :)  I have to try out some recipes in the near future.  Tourney season is just around the corner.  Heck, it's already here....

I also determined that I need to teach a class (working title only) called "Courtesans are not Whores!"
Sadly, there is a great misconception in this kingdom.  I don't know enough about this subject, ie: I don't have direct quotes from primary sources, or even secondary.  I really need to do a research paper on this topic before I try to teach it.  Then again, I can always teach it with a disclaimer. "Teacher does not know everything and may, in fact, be wrong on some points.  If you are going to disagree, please provide sources."

*sighs* I really want to have an awesome courtesan get-up done before then.  I want to show them how classy a courtesan can be.  Mind you, I know that a lot of them had sex with their gentlemen, but as I've said before... "Whores get paid, Courtesans get gifts."  And as a friend put it "The men were inspired to gift the courtesans."
