Моко попадается на глаза чаще всех прочих зверей гор Капибара. Поведением эти зверьки очень похожи на скальных даманов Африки и Ближнего Востока, но они родственны морским свинкам. Второй вид моко обитает в лесах Амазонки и поведением напоминает африканских лесных даманов.
Moco, or rock cavy (Kerodon rupestris) is the most frequently seen mammal in Serra da Capivara. It looks and behaves a lot like rock hyraxes of Africa and the Middle East, but it's related to a Guinea pig. A closely related species (K. acrobata) lives in the rainforests of the Amazon and behaves like African tree hyrax.
