Fortune cookies aren't even trying anymore. Mine from today:
"Maybe you can live on the moon in next century."

The really sad part is that without the "Maybe", it WOULD be a fortune.

The thing that gets me the most is that most people who live in America seem to have nothing but disdain for the principles it was founded upon.

In a way, this all seems very similar to 1972, moreso than anything else I can think of. Anyone else catch the debate? So damn refreshing to see a presidential candidate that can speak articulately and knowledgeably. Meanwhile, was it just me, or did Bush look REALLY flustered for a large portion of that?

I'm looking at the front page of the BBC (which is a service fairer to Kerry than most) and there's 5 headlines with Bush's name on them about the election, and 2 with Kerry's. And one of those is about Cheney bashing him, and the other one is about how John Kerry isn't campaigning very well ( Read more... )

At the risk of having posted WAY too much stuff about TV as of late (which will stop after this post, promise), if you want some classically bad viewing, check out NBC's new show "Hawaii". Basically, imagine if MTV tried to make a spinoff of Law and Order. Yeah. It's that bad. Cop drama+slapstick does not mix.

I'm not watching Comedy Central anymore. They stopped showing SNL, they stopped showing Conan, and I can download eps of Reno 911, Daily Show and Chappelle's Show if they're new. Fuck 'em.
