New Car Smell

Feb 28, 2007 14:57

I need a new car. As much as I love my Police Cruiser, it's over 10 years old, banged up a little, and several little things have quit working, like the cruise control, at least two window motors, the cd player, the surface-to-air missiles, and occasionally the brakes. Nothing major. The engine is still running strong at something like 150,000 ( Read more... )

If you're at all considering a Miata, you should definitely look at the Solstice GXP or its (IMO) hotter brother, the Saturn Sky Redline. Way cooler than the Zoom-Zoomsters.

Of the others, I think I see you in the TT before the G or the C5, actually...it just seems to go with your personality, somehow.

The Solstice looks very hot! I'll definitely take a closer look at that. I didn't care as much for the Saturn, but it may just be the photos that were up. Thanks for the input!

Because I can't make any decent suggestions, I'll just have to make a smart ass comment.

"You should totally get a Dodge Ram big ass truck. Yeah."

i don't have any personal advice for you, but if you'd like some miata opinions i'd say go talk to stinabat she's on her second one and i don't think would trade it for anything in the world. my uncle also has one that he loves to death. he's had it for years and does almost all of his own repair work on it. he also drives back and forth from houston to port isabel in it almost every weekend.

Nice!! I've got a friend who's dad has a Miata and I think he likes it very much as well. I've heard a lot about them, and not many bad things, and I like how small and sporty it is. Thanks for the input!

i don't now how you are about talking to lj people you don't know, but really you need to talk to stinabat, she's very serious about her car. :P

I'm a bit turned off on Mitsubishi due to prior experience with them, but will certainly check out the STI. Never looked at it before! Thanks!

I've driven both, but I've driven the STI ten times (once I burned through a whole tank of gas on the test drive). The STI is much more refined and interior is FAR less cheap-feeling aside from the seats which are about the same in both. The MR handles a bit better, but it feels a lot more racecar-like and is much less streetable. If you're considering a vette, though, it's not terribly different in terms of ride. Both cars are sick, sick cars with tons of power to light up the tires and massive brakes to stop them. Both will also let you have boatloads of fun in the occasional texas snow. If you wind up getting one or the other, remember to idle the car a while after you start it and before you turn it off to let the turbo cool off.

That said, I'm wicked jealous.

Awesome! I like that it seems to be a classy semi-luxury sports car. I'm really looking forward to checking it out in person.
