New Car Smell

Feb 28, 2007 14:57

I need a new car. As much as I love my Police Cruiser, it's over 10 years old, banged up a little, and several little things have quit working, like the cruise control, at least two window motors, the cd player, the surface-to-air missiles, and occasionally the brakes. Nothing major. The engine is still running strong at something like 150,000 ( Read more... )

My dad LOVES his Miata, it's a sweet car. I don't know alot about it, but I could probably find out anything you want from my dad.

I'd love to hear more about what he likes and dislikes about it. It's a heavy contender right now, but has some tough competition! God, that C5 makes my pants get tight!

So... you hate me? :P If I were being at all rational or practical, I'd stick with my grandpa car until it explodes in like 20 years! It's huge, safe, and I can transport at least 10 dead hookers!

The primary purpose for a new, sporty car is the feeling, and I'm looking forward to finally being able to choose my own car versus having to buy hand-me-downs!

the most common thing i hear is that they're small, and consequently unsafe. what is your perspective of those two issues?

If you're at all interested in the Miata, may I suggest the Honda S2000 for your consideration? Having experienced the joy of driving one, I can tell you first hand that the 9,300 rpm redline, six-speed manual transmission, and incredibly tight suspension all combine for an unparalleled driving experience. Just make sure you get one from before 2004, otherwise you get the gimped redline (a mere 8,200).

You may find it uncomfortable after cruising around in a goddamned land yacht like the Crown Vic, but you won't be able to argue with the utter sexiness. And as for driving stick, well, if you don't wanna do it, a.) you're not a man and b.) you're sacrificing a great deal of control over your vehicle for supposed "comfort" and "convenience," whatever those words mean.

I haven't heard of the S2000 and I'll look into it! Thanks! I'm not looking for a high-performance car, per-se. Rather, something comfortable, fun, sexy, and decently reliable.
