Ah, Vatheon. Always so peaceful when there wasn't a kraken around to ruin everyone's day. She'd decided to go to the plaza, because she was pretty sure that she needed some important stuff, like cat food for Moses and..snacks.
Then she noticed some kind of creepy guy standing by the fountain. She actually stopped in her walk to stare at him for a moment, judging whether or not he was going to just... shoot something? Cut something up? But he didn't. Maybe he was new, but just happened to look kind of gross.
It took her a moment, but she eventually edged closer towards him, "Uhm..Hi. Are you okay...?"
Well, probably the most practical response available, considering he currently had no idea where he was. Or if he was hallucinating. Or dead. On the plus side, the boy sounded positively harmless, if slightly afraid...well, concerned would be the better way to describe it. This wasn't fear so much as it was the creeping sense of unease one would expect someone to feel after being kidnapped through dimensions by a giant piece of sentient coral. For a moment, the eyes beneath the mask glow a bright blue and Simon goes motionless, but after a few seconds of trying to determine where he- where Gotham was, the glow vanishes and he turns his attention back to Selphie.
"...this isn't home. This is nowhere close to home. Why am I here?"
Selphie tilted her head towards him and, deciding that he was okay, at least, he wasn't about to attack her anytime soon, she walked bravely closer. She gave him a sympathetic smile, because she knew too well how it felt to turn up there. That, and she was part of the welcoming committee. He looked a bit creepy, but Selphie wasn't one to let that get in the way.
"No. I'm sorry. This is Vatheon. I dunno why you're here, I dunno why anyone's here. But...welcome!"
"Vatheon...I've never heard of this place." If he had, he'd most likely remember...not just due to his own astonishingly good memory, but the fact that it would probably be very hard to forget about a giant city under the sea. Speaking of which...no, it couldn't be Atlantis. That was supposed to exist where he came from, which meant if it was then he should have been able to see Gotham. Which, he couldn't. And depending on how perceptive Selphie was, Simon's body language began to change the closer she got. Far more nervous than threatening, though...
"No way to get home?" Simon asked, though by the sound of his voice, he was already expecting the answer to be 'no.' And he didn't sound too eager to hear as much, either. Sure, he'd been planning on leaving Gotham to begin with, but not without saying his goodbyes. And he definitely didn't want to leave the entire planet behind, like he was beginning to suspect was the case here. He couldn't think of any other explanation for why his far seeing wasn't working, other than the fact that

Normally, Darkleer doesn't much care to approach others, even when it comes to the much more familiar sights of his own kind. Even before his exile, he had simply had little interest in others. There was work to be done, trolls to lead, weapons to craft, et cetera, et cetera. When he absolutely had to be social with others, it was usually in the interest of backstabbing games that are so common amongst the highblood castes.
His excursion into the city today is simply to get supplies to repair the damage the kraken had done to the hive he lives in alongside his descendent and his matesprit. However, when he spots a figure suddenly crash-land into the plaza fountain, he pauses, curious. After watching the human (?) for a moment, he finally decides to approach. Not too close, however.
"You are certainly different than the usual arrivals. Human?"
Well, this one certainly wasn't human. Gray skin ruled that out. The horns as well. And the language was wrong for any sort of shapeshifters or demons he was familiar with. Very curious indeed...once he figured out where he was, Simon might have to find out more about this individual. Whether or not that was through conversation or observation, he'd have to figure out later...
"...no. Not quite," Simon reluctantly answered, after some moment's hesitation. He wasn't fully comfortable with admitting how he'd come to be, but he wanted to believe his...condition wouldn't be as much an issue with a non-human like this one. He hoped, that is. "How did I get here?"Despite how others might have felt when asking that question before him, Simon didn't appear to sound panicked or afraid...but curious. Apprehensive certainly, but also genuinely interested in how he'd gotten here. He hadn't been performing a travel spell, or any spell for that matter, which meant he could rule out an accidental transportation due to a misspoken word or an
