[Maybe it was pity, or maybe it was a sense of familiarity, that caused him to approach someone who his instincts were telling to run away from very fast-he'll never know. What he did know was that a source of Light-and a very, very strong one at that-was there and not moving. He can't truly see with this getup on, but coming ever closer silently with the occasional crunching of footfalls on the snow.

Yet when he stops in front of her, he doesn't say a word. He tilts his head, if the outline of the hood is anything to go by when the cloaked figure pauses. His heart is concealed-if he has one-and he remains silent until suddenly he bends down, casting a small orb of Dark Firaga to help warm her up.]

I take it you just arrived.

[The state of shock prevents Aqua from being aware of her surroundings, her defenses down and open. A small part in the back her mind was nagging that she was too vulnerable but she remained still in the snow.

It was only after the hooded figure was standing right in front of her did she make the slightest movement. Her head bent up to catch sight of the soft blue ball of dark fire floating in his hand and it suddenly triggered an automatic response from the Master.

She was on her feet and, in three quick strides backwards, Aqua was already in a fighting stance with keyblade summoned in hand.]

[He blinks. Though, he did have to admit that the reaction-even if what he did was meant to help-was met with defensive maneuvers. After all, Darkness in his world was mostly viewed as evil. He sought to change that view; it wasn't the element, but those who lurk inside it-

...Is that a Keyblade?

He doesn't move initially, but the summoning of the familiar blade causes him to crush the orb in his hand before standing at full height. This woman had one just like Sora... Like Kairi would in the future according to what he saw the last time she was here. How is it that he just kept running into them-other wielders, that is?]

... I'm not going to hurt you.

[Because really, he can tell just by the scent. She'd kick his ass in a matter of seconds the way he is now.]

[His words made Aqua tighten her hand on the handle of the keyblade. She felt a growing sense of worry and couldn't put her finger on it until she realized her subconscious fear. The magic he wielded was laced with darkness but she couldn't sense him... his heart. Something was blocking her senses and it only heightened her awareness, bringing her fear towards the edge. But she knew better than to go recklessly, blindly into a fight.

She tried to hold her stance but a violent shiver run up her spine and out towards her limbs. Why was she drenched with water? Was it the hooded stranger's doing?]

Did you bring me here?

Squall's mind was still full of questions about this Vatheon place he had somehow landed into. He was lucky enough to be found by people, most of them helpful to give him some kind of sense of direction. But he still felt lost and the fact that he had almost no control over the situation left him uneasy. Eventually, he had decided to start looking around, as it was his only choice. He had to figure out how this place worked and how to live in it. And then he could start thinking about how to leave. To try to do it the other way would be putting the cart before the Chocobo, so to speak ( ... )

The voice seemed to shake her mentally awake as unfocused eyes blinked and gazed up at the source. Aqua probably looked a little too awestruck, too dumbfounded as she stared at Squall. Was it really so strange to see another person? It was when you've been in the dark for so long without anyone else to talk to. "Hmm." A soft hum was all she could muster when taking in his command, processing it. Subconsciously, her body responded without protest as she bent her legs under her and rose from the cold spot on the ground. An even colder chill ran up her spine and she could feel the numbness of the air seep right into her bones ( ... )

She stared at him, and Squall shifted awkwardly under her gaze. What was she doing? Scrutinizing him? Was she scared of him? Or did she just not understand him? But then she stood up and he felt relieved.

"Squall Leonhart," he said, glad that she had asked him something easy. Huh, if that girl didn't get somewhere warm or at least dried off a bit, she was in a world of trouble. There was a rack of dry towels nearby, so he took one and handed it to her. Would that even be enough? He didn't know.

...maybe...

With his other hand, he tried concentrated on drawing energy from the surroundings. He hadn't tried to use magic ever since his own arrival, and now was as good a time as any. After far more effort than it should have taken, he finally was able to summon a small fire spell in his hand.

That was terrible. Either something affected his magic, or he was out of practice.

"You?"

Squall. Squall Leonhart. She repeated his name mentally to be sure to never forget it and nodded her thanks for the offered towel. As she wrapped it around her shivering body, Aqua took a moment to take a better look around her surroundings and seemed to be in deep thought until the flicker of fire caught her eye.

She stared at the magic produced to give her warmth and she seemed unfazed by the fact that he could use such a skill. Well, maybe she was mildly surprised.

"My name is Aqua," she replied and lifted her hands up to the source of warmth. She twisted her fingers and turned her palms to work out the cold that stiffened the joints.

"Thank you... for helping me."

There were quite a few things Isa had learned since arriving in this place but a few days ago. One such thing: arriving here cold and confused was not the most pleasant experience. Call it what you will, there was simply no just leaving people on entrance.

So Isa grabbed one of the nice fresh and warm towels from the now inside vendor and approached, handing it out towards her. "You don't want to catch a cold." He was pretty certain he would, considering the time he spent soaking out in the snow.

Out of the corner of her eye, Aqua spotted the fluffy, white towel offered to her and followed her gaze up until it settled on the young man's face. The first thing she noticed was the blue mane of hair that stuck up into the air that was only a few shades lighter than her own. In passing thought, she mused if the two of them could pass of as relatives!

A cold breeze made her shiver and she reacted, her hand slowly reaching out and accepting his helpful gift. "... thank you," she murmured and pulled it around her body to ward off the cold.

Ha, it’s almost like they’re siblings or something. Surely it would confuse some people in the least. Isa dropped his hand as she took the towel and crossed his arms. Currently, he’d bundled himself up in his normal hoodie and periwinkle scarf. Anyone in their right mind would have bundled up just a bit. This had to be someone new.

“You’re welcome.” He pauses a second and sighs. “Did you just arrive here?” Being a new arrival himself... this is only slightly awkward.

To arrive would mean that she made the conscious decision to travel here. That wasn't the case. Regardless, she slowly nodded and pulled the towel up to her face, drying away the stray droplets of cold, ice water sticking to her hair.

"I guess I did... but I don't know where 'here' is," she answered before shivering again. "Why... am I soaked? Is that normal?"

[Maybe it's her blue hair that does it.

It's quite eye-catching, Yukari has to admit, though she doesn't realize that the woman is dripping wet and shivering until she moves closer--hearing her feet make squishing sounds, leaving footprints in the snow.

...suddenly she looks worried.]

H-Hey--

Um...are you okay?

[The crunching and sloshing of snow is enough to break her unfocused thoughts as she turns her head towards the young woman. She gazes for a minute or two, like she had forgotten how to speak to another being.]

... I... [She was about to say 'I'm fine' but would be lying. A long sigh left her lips before she attempted to speak again.]

I don't know where I am. Or why I'm soaking wet...

...It's normal here, if you can believe that. [...Heh. Oh, dear.] You're in a city called Vatheon now.

[Yukari will offer her a hand, trying to look as peaceful as can be.]

Come on. I know you're scared, but you don't wanna stay out here like this.

[She places a cold hand into the young woman's warm one, squeezing gently as she lifted herself off from the ground.]

Vatheon. [A name for the new world.]

There must be some sort of summoning magic at work that brought me here.

[She's almost gotten used the sight of stranger appearing. It's the look on the woman's face, along with her her wet clothing that makes Liechtenstein stop and worry. This woman may be a stranger, but no one should ever have that such a lost look on their face. When the woman suddenly sinks to the ground, Liechtenstein hurries over]

Miss? Are you alright?...Are you hurt?

[Aqua probably wouldn't have noticed the young girl coming for way if it wasn't for the light inside her heart. Like a moth drawn to a flame, Aqua shifted her gaze to the young girl and felt her mind suddenly working to form words.]

Ah... I'm alright. [Not exactly true but she didn't want this girl to worry about her.]

I don't understand what happened. This place is not familiar to me...

[While she is glad the woman is talking, Liechtenstein isn't entirely convinced that the young woman in front of her is fine.]

Are you sure? [She can't stop the worried look that appears on her face]

I don't know where you were before, but now you're in the city of Vatheon.

lux_permanet September 27 2011, 22:33:30 UTC
Hmm... [Her resolve cracks a little under that concerned gaze.]

I will be... [She couldn't help but give the young girl a smile. It's hard to frown around the light that shine within the girl's heart!]

Where is Vatheon?
