Conversation 006 : Artistic Renovations

[With a yawn she emerges from the apartment, the smell of the paint hitting her a bit hard as she makes her way down the hall. Soon another yawn and she eventually teeters over to a wall, her bare lower arm going to brace her stance, yes, brace her against the wet wall and a chill runs down her spine from how cold it is.]

Whooaaa...

Kanaya?

[She glances to her arm, moving it around and yeah, it's a bit covered in paint now. As she looks she sees Kanaya down the hall a little and yawns again, moving over to her with a smile, extending her paint covered arm.]

I'm part of the hallwaaaaay!

[Kanaya glances over from the teal/violet contrast she'd been considering, and considers the streak on Feferi's arm.]

So you are. I'm not sure that color works with you, though. Maybe another part of the wall...? And you're a little too mobile to really work in with the look of the place anyway.

Oh man, I'm pretty shore all colours work for me, hehe.

I can be still if need be? I can be as still as one of these waaaaaall,s oh oh, like camouflage! My cuttlebuddies were really good at that too, heehee.

Though, I DON'T THINK I can do that kind of stuff.

[Walking over to Kanaya she starts to look over what she currently is working on now, perhaps glancing at that silly hate too.]

So...What'cha doin'?

[The beret has a few small dabs of paint on it thanks to some enthusiastic experimenting earlier. A few are also in Kanaya's hair, though her clothing is spotless.]

It's a matter of clashing with your attire, and honestly the color isn't very evocative of your temperament.

...A kind of living performance? That's actually an interesting idea, I didn't expect it, but suppose we wanted to surprise someone on the floor. If the decoratations are all doused in color the irregularities wouldn't be as noticable. You could be covered in paints, and surprise a passerby or more.

[Kanaya's voice is growing increasingly enthusiastic as she warms to the idea of the challenge of such a work, and she almost misses Feferi's question.]

This place looked drab. It seems a good time to improve it with a little color.

[Lucky for this troll she has exited her apartment and is now heading in that direction. Upon her head is a sun hat with a cerulean ribbon. To match she is wearing a blue sun dress. Fuck, even her shoes match. Well they had too, she had to look her best after all.

She stops when she notices the other troll. What luck she has today, she gets to see her best friend and look at her lovely work. Surely she must investigate what her meddler friend is up too. Oh silly, now she is being a meddler. Still, she is curious.]

Kaaaaaaaanaya! What are you up to on a fine day like this?

[That is an unusually fetching outfit on Vriska! Kanaya stops to admire it for a moment, with a brief irritated musing that it was probably obtained at some other store than the one she helps in. Perhaps an introduction to finer fashion was in order.]

Isn't it obvious? I am trying to remedy the awful stark blankness of these hallways with a little more color and vitality. And so, the cylinders of color I'm spreading across them.

[Oh! is she admiring? My, my Kanaya you have her posing now! Pose! Pose! Pose!]

Oooooooo! That is quite delightful! There definitely needs to be more color in here I agree! So, shall I help you? I think we should pick some sort of blue. Possibly a cerulean?

A few touches wouldn't hurt... I believe I have a few shades of blue around, and mixing could provide something close to what you're suggesting.

[Between the clothing and the suggestion, Vriska is bringing a lot of blue to the hallway. Fashionable and confident blue, certainly, but perhaps it is becoming an overabundance. Kanaya grimaces a little.]

Adding other colors in that area would be best, though. For the sake of variety.

[This is artsy and underground enough for Hajime to join in the movement. He's going to paint some hipster triangles on these walls. You ready?]

Kanaya. Painting, is it?

[He gathers a palette of paints composed of beige, nude, an off white, a milk chocolate brown, a plum magenta, and-- ah, looks like he's missing a color.]

Do you have rosewater blush paint? You've probably never heard of it.

[Hipsters Pretentious artists unite! Triangles are a welcome addition. She looks a little askance at his color choices, though. Hers have been rather more primary and vibrant.]

The 'modern' look of the apartment is simply not working for me anymore. I thought I would liven it up a little. Add some splashes.

[About twenty feet down the hall, it is clear that her first idea was to literally splash the wall with paint.]

Blush... paint? No, I don't believe so.

Rosewater blush. Leave it to me. [Correcting tone. He grabs a warm pink and mixes in a white, slowly adding color as he needs them.]

I agree completely. The complex is too mainstream.

[After he's quickly formed his color, he strokes one of the pale neutral paints on a small portion of the wall.

Hmm, the splash idea isn't bad but it should be lined carefully at the top and allowed to bleed down. He experiments with the technique, allowing the newly formed pink to drizzle over an off white base.]

I admit your taste is impressive. I've used this technique before it was cool to do so.

Do those frames even have lenses in them? (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ

If you know the proportions, that sounds like an excellent contribution. I don't believe I had heard of colors named by make-up styles, but I am certainly unsurprised that they exist.

[She considers the drizzle approach that he's developing in response, and nods approvingly. For herself, the more erratic splash effects are interesting. Hopefully they won't remind any of the other trolls in the complex of blood splashes.]

I had, however unwittingly, stumbled upon this look before coming to the bubble. It was an accident involving another medium anyway, and I cleaned it up rather than bother my friends.

[That lusus is assisting in her redecoration efforts? And what a novel stylization! To use her hands---or paws---as the ways of spreading the paint? The patterns and textures that are resulting from it!]

[This may be fun, but having a tasteful interior is very serious business, mysterious wolf-lusus. Kanaya moves over to more closely examine Ammy's contribution.]

This is a much preferable kind of chaos to be creating. I wouldn't even categorize our alterations to the area as damage.

[Kanaya is currently swiping with a brush in a few shapes along a ceiling, until she notices him in the hall.]

Did you touch the paint unintentionally? I believe there were signs posted to prevent this from occurring.

Oh, you were painting? I didn't notice. It kinda looked like it was already dry...

Wait, wait, *and* this face. It's because he reminds her of John, I think. :p

[Kanaya is driven by an impulse to place her face in her hand, and does so. Unfortunately, her hand had still hand some paint on it. She pulls it away quickly, and irritably tries to wipe it off with the dry back of her hand.

After a moment of wiping, she glances at him again.]

Yes. The hallway is drab and boring, and I'm improving it. A few others made contributions in different parts; if you find that you have ideas for a design somewhere, you can attempt to improve it.
