[ Yukari has no particular reason to be in the bookstore, really. She is just wandering; maybe she feels like a good book would pass the days better than just watching TV or something Stupei might do.
She spots a familiar face near one of the shelves that she just happens to be approaching; annnddd she smiles, seeing how determined Maka looks, scanning the book titles. Yukari pulls out a book that catches her eye, very casually as she addresses her. ]
[ She repeats, a little bewildered, though a small chuckle escapes her lips at that last name. It's brief, however, and you can tell she's definitely trying to think of something. ]
He really wants to know about weddings, I guess, and he likes romcoms. And he's been really helpful to me since I arrived here, so I wanted to get a gift for him.
actually doesn't really bother her so much. Believe it or not, she's used to being run into and is only able to avoid it herself because of her freaky ability to see souls.
But anyway, hello stranger! This is Maka smiling and shaking her head.]
Don't worry about it! There's nothing wrong with getting lost in a good book!
[Jade's been combing through the shelves methodically, looking for anything both competently written and pertinent to his interests. Though it's becoming obvious he'll need to find a technical library to do that.]
There's a girl scrutinizing the books as well, and he can't help but to appear behind her and ask.]
Actually...I can't stand fish. It makes me sick. [ALL SMILES AS SHE SAYS THIS, THOUGH, figure that one out.]
[And now she's pointing off in that one direction over there. And giving a fancy detailed description because the library actually remains an eternal mystery to the mun.] You can't miss it!
[...Those sickles look kind of cool, even with the doofus-fu. She's making a note to ask him about them later.]
I told you I would! [And now she's holding up one of the Earth films she managed to snag to show him the title "27 Dresses"] I basically just picked up whatever had a wedding involved in the plot, this one's about a woman that always ends up being a bridesmaid at her friends' weddings.
[Are you really setting off her boring explanation ability. ARE YOU.]
They're usually friends of the bride that she picked out specifically to help; they assist the bride with the preparations beforehand and during the wedding. Typically the highest ranking one of them is the maid of honor, whose usually the best friend or sister of the bride.
What I'm basically saying is they're friends and helpers that the bride can rely on to be there for her on her wedding day. Grooms--or, rather, the other partner in the relationship--have their own equivalent in groomsmen and a best man.
The dresses...don't really have a lot to do with it except it's a part of the etiquette to dress nicely at a wedding and the bridesmaids typically have matching dresses. It's sometimes a part of the theme of the wedding.

[A pause as she looks back at the book in her hand titled "Of Fish and Mermen"]
