Gracia huffed and wiped her brow with her handkerchief. She'd been testing out her new powers and skills all morning, and she was happy to get stronger. But she was completely exhausted now, ready to call it a day.
However, the excitement of playing a game like this - a game that she's never experienced before, never even dreamed of being real - it won over her common sense to rest. Gracia trudged along the plaza wearing her class' appropriate clothes with a large red wide brimmed hat, a white feather sticking on top of it. Spotting Kenshin, Gracia walked over to him exhaustedly, feeling the cool wind from his body.
"Aah, I should have known you would be a difficult opponent to harm, Ken!" She motions to his stats atop his head. "You're still full of energy!"
Ken? That was a new one, not that he minded. He offered the empty seat across from him with a silent gesture.
"This new style of battle is quite intriguing," Kenshin stated with a slight smirk. "These quests test both strategy and skill." He was obviously quite entertained. It was finally something to keep him entertained and put his knowledge and strategy to the test. Granted it wasn't quite the same as facing off against Shingen, but it was a close second.
"It is, isn't it?" She takes the offered seat and plops down with a relieved sigh. How nice it felt to finally be able to rest!
"I'm still getting used to fighting like this, but I'm getting stronger and stronger every time!" Gracia looks determined as she stares at the cool facade of Kenshin. She tilts her head and points to him.
"Ken, let's train together after I've regained my strength!"
Going at it for the bulk of the morning and all of yesterday certainly wasn't without reward. Between quests and general training to exercise his newfound skills (with the lack of his old ones), Hubert found himself a little more confident in this new style. Some things hadn't changed, at least; it still hurt to take a single hit.
As he walked across the plaza, a chill ran up his spine. Not because of inexplicable fear, but because it was unusually cold given Vatheon's general temperature -- and Hubert was never one for the cold. He shook his head, willing the slight coldness away when a figure caught his attention. He recognized the person immediately, despite not having spoken together in a fairly long time. From a distance, he said the name as his mind recalled it.
The cold hardly bothered Kenshin. Echigo was a frigid place in the winter, and he was more than accustomed to the touch of ice due to his affinity with it prior to this odd curse. It just seemed to emanate more than usual.
"Hubert-dono," Kenshin offered the man a friendly smile. "It has been some time."
Straightening, he closed the distance between them while not coming too close. Distance in itself signified respect, so he kept himself at a respectable distance. He nodded. Time. Much time had passed since they last met and last talked.
Kenshin noted the distance, the respect he held. That didn't mean he wouldn't invite the other over for a friendly chat. "You are more than welcome to join me," Kenshin offered the empty seat across the table. "The tea is fresh."
