BBC board is getting more distant from me

There was a thread about Korea and its culture and people were posting on their experiences or what they know of said country. I contributed a few posts, saying it's not as popular over here in England. You get the occasional film festival dedicating Korean films. I only found out about K-dramas when I went to Malaysia and bought loads of DVDs. My first encounter was via PCNE channel where K-dramas were dubbed in Mandarin and I didn't understand a word and couldn't read the Chinese subtitles.

Apparently I was wrong about Europeans and Brits not being as crazy on the Hallyu wave. I did not know this. In fact if I did I would probably be hearing teenage girls squealing over how DBSK's Junsu or T.O.P from Big Bang are omg they're well buff pardon the bad tween talk while walking down Central London. But I haven't. I think this is what I get for not diving into the Hallyu wave as much. I had a serious break from the Kpop fandom and anything Asian-related tbh. I'm out of date with Japanese and Chinese music as well. I think I was mostly pissed off with the fandom stupidity that lurked around the corner thanks to trolls and insane fans.

On the flip side I know British Animanga/Jrock/Jpop fans exist. I've been to gigs and conventions and saw them. We're a small community though. I just haven't explored the Korean side of things enough. Anyway I respect the fact this lady knows her stuff for 8 years. Good for her. She said I underestimated the Hallyu wave. Uh yes no shit lady I get it. OK I didn't really say that. I just said ok you got me, sorry I got it all wrong then left it at that. If she wants to comment back and call me an idiot or accept my apology hey go for it. I hardly comment at that message board anyway for personal reasons. Also I don't live in Australia so I don't see these superstars walking in the airport. In fact I don't know anyone's schedule when they go to Heathrow.

Heck I didn't even realise there were loads of nicknames for Korean musicians. Again this is because I don't follow it every single day. I used to know a lot of Seiyuu when I was regularly watching Anime during my spare time at university but then I slowed down on that. I have corrected people on their Anime misunderstandings though it wasn't in a smug fashion. Anime is weird. Well of course it's weird but you get your light-hearted things too. That's the wonder of the genre.

If you want to see the thread in question you can go here look out for citigirl78 - that's the user who got all 'omg are you blind?' at me.
