I think people who have history degrees are usually good at world-building because they've had to do exactly what you said-analyze different cultures and work out why they were successful, what made them tick, and why they eventually fall. All good skills-of course, I have a degree in history as well so I would say that :) Kate Pearce x

Great post Crystal! When worldbuilding, it's easy to get caught up on the quirks and gimmicks with nothing solid to hang onto. You give some wonderful points on building a strong foundation.

Love the cover! It would look great on my bedside table. *wink*
