ok now i know where you got those smoothies you brought to my place. but what are the pink bags surrounding jake? (ps. jake looks happy as a clam surrounded by free merchandise in that picture).

once my damn uncle made me miss my flight and i had to wait like 8 hours for another one. all because he thought we had PLENTY of time and i was like: wtf, the flight is in an hour and you won't freaking drive me now? bastard. yes this has nothign to do with singe.. i had latent angers.

i think 32 min is good! i remember having to run a mile in PE. it took me 11 min because i just gave up and started walking after a while. falalaal. i was more into running when i was like.. 8.

those pink bags are sunchips from a box that i boosted from their tent. they make them especially for the race and manufacture little pink bags for them. some were matte finish, others were in a metallic finish.

as for the time...well, i'm sure that the three minutes in the crowd didn't help at the beginning, not the mention the legions of people who would cut in front of you, but damned if i wasn't unhappy with my time. *sigh* i need to get back into running again. but then again - what's my incentive? i'm out of the army here in two weeks!! WOOT!

your attention to detail (descriptions of the matte versus shiny finish bags) are astoundingly anal yet pleasingly endearings. :p

HEEEEEEE!

"attention to detail, jumpmaster!!!"

oh my god, everything looks SO good! that huge paella bowl looks incredibly funny! i also want some of that corn. chili powder? i'm so doing that next time i eat corn.

that sucks that they can't ring you in right when you cross the finish line, but only when the judges comes to check you in! you can totally beat 30 minutes next year. no more shopping beforehand!

next year i'm totally getting to the start line early! it was impossible squeezing past anyone once we got there late.

honey??? dukboki June 15 2006, 12:02:21 UTC
oh man, you can't do that for stuff that takes too long to cook - the sugar burns quickly. i was wondering why the skin was scorching so fast...

ok i tried replying from email, but the web email server said no. so there's goes the idea that i can still somehow reply to comments from work. :p and since i bothered typing out all that shit, here it is.

the skin did scorch rather quickly didn't it? :p

i've seen ppl baste bbq directly with honey without it scorching, i'd say the heat was on too high for measily little things like chicken wings. and the grill doesn't seem to get high temp enough to sear steaks properly either. i definitely prefer charcoal grills. :p

yes, charcoal is nice. but b/c of the hard time to perfect the temp and the scorching that comes from using sauces heavy in sugars or even honey, i'll pre-cook the meat before applying the sauce. just like my ribs, i'll bake them with just spices until tender - then the grill is just to baste the sauce and give the smoky flavor.

less typing, more grilling. i finally get to sample some of those baby back ribs you've been bragging about all these years. :p and don't bring up any of that "i have to practice since i haven't made it in forever" bullshits. a master never forgets!
